ChapterTwo

In fear The first thing I noticed when I opened my eyes, was, that I was moving but I wasn’t walking. That was Weird. I wiggled and tried to see the face of the person carrying me but I had the veil cover my face. It felt like I was fighting against a wall. “Let me go!” I kicked. Suddenly I was dropped on a bed. The man began walking out. “You know what to do “he muttered to a lady at the door. As soon as he left the room, three women came in and walked to me. “Miss Natalya please move to the dressing table” the oldest amongst them said. “Natalya? What are you talking about? I am— two of them shoved me gently out of the bed and put me in a chair and they began to take off my veil— don’t touch me or I will scream!” I said standing and backing them. They looked at me like I was a petulant child. “Please Sit, we are just doing our job” one of them said rolling her eyes. Oh no this not happening. I have heard of stories of brides that have been kidn*pped and wed. The fact that it was about to happen to me, was chilling to my bones. “ Now listen” I pointed to them. “ I am not Natalya, my name is Katia. As you can see on my card— I brought my hand to grab my press Card but it’s gone— where is my Card!” I began to look around but couldn’t find it. “Miss I —“the oldest amongst them began but I interrupted her. “no you listen ma’am, I am not Natalya, you have gotten it all wrong” I glared at them. The youngest one amongst them whispered to the oldest and she nodded. Then the youngest began to walk out of the room. ************************************************************************************* “Follow me” he ordered. My eyes stung with unshed tears. I was severely warned by this hulk of a guy not to shed or tear or else he would, ask the women to hit me. With the way the youngest of the women, shoved me to the seat, I began to fear for my life. After series of sniffs, narrowing of eyes, they had done my makeup. I looked in the mirror and I was a bride. I tried to tell them the truth but they wouldn’t listen. Tears threatened to fall from my eryes but one look, from that scary man, I took it all in. I and the Scary man walked to a building that was locked. The man whispered into a phone and asked me to stay put. I waited and the door was open. My jaw hit the ground when I saw it was a church. I was yet to understand what was going one, when I felt a presence beside me. I turned and my heart skipped a beat. I was staring at YURI STALIN. THE YURI STALIN OF RUSSIA. I blinked, like a faulty bulb. I opened my mouth but no words made it out. Damn he was too handsome. Like in this sort of devilish way. He looked even better up close. He stared at me like I was stupid. Suddenly a candle was shoved into my hands and Yuri had a candle. And then it all began to make sense. The makeup. The candles. The church. I whipped my head around and saw that Yuri was wearing a tuxedo. Oh my God! They think I am the bride. Just then the candle was lit and my eyes widened. So in Russia, when a wedding ceremony is about to take place, two candles are given to the couple at the entrance of the church. It is lit and it will burn throughout the church service. “Please Mr. Yuri, I am not the bride, you confuse me for someone else” I said as my eyes began to water. “Move” he ordered. So then we began to walk into the church. I looked at the people, hoping that someone will stop this madness but they were all smiles. “See Mr. Yuri I’m on a red dress, which is not appropriate for the event” I begged as we stood in front of me. He looked at me, raising an eyebrow. It was then that I realized that the actual wedding gown of Russia was a red gown. Now I am f****d. How was I going to convince Yuri that I was not his bride? Immediately after the vows, Yuri grabbed my hands and we left the church. “Don’t try to play games Natalya, you are already my wife” he glared at me. I was about to reply when my eyes caught sight of guns hanging around the waist of the two men behind me. I proceeded to check the waist of the other men and my blood ran cold. ************************************************************************************* “ Open up Miss Natalya, you have to eat something or you would die!” the maid yelled from outside the door. It’s been a week since I got married to Yuri Stalin, out of my will. I just sat on bed, bawling into the pillow. Nothing makes sense any longer. The next minute, the door was broken open. “ eat your food!” he barked. For a weird reason I wasn’t scared. The worst has happened. I looked at the ring on my finger and stared at the window. “ I’mnot hungry” Yuri stared at me for a longer time before he walked out of the room. Two days, later I realized that nothing would change if I kept crying to the extent, of blurring my vision. I decided to be useful. Yuri and I didn’t share the same room and that gave me some privacy to plot my escape. My room was heavily guarded and I had access to just the bathroom. I went to use the bathroom when I saw a window open. After midnight, I took out the sheets and tied it like it a rope. Then I set up the chair. I climbed over gently and used the bed sheet to land softly. As I was about to run, I heard footsteps and hid behind some flowers. My heart beat so loud that I thought they would hear. The whole of my body was visibly shaking. Then after a long time of standing there, they finally left. I waited for like a minute. Then I took off running. I didn’t look back. The gate was bolted but the lock was free. With terrible shaky hands, I moved the bolt thingy quietly and then opened the door. This was it. I was finally free. The moment I made to run out, huge hands came from behind and grabbed me, again. I screamed and a hand was clasped over my mouth. That was the last thing I remembered before I passed out.
