Out of control Yuri’s POV “What the hell were you doing! “I shoved the guard hard on his chest. he was the one I had kept outside. I hated inefficient people. I looked around and could see stacks of chairs at the window of the bathroom. Why was the window of that bathroom open? Who opened the f*****g gate? Some people were about to lose their jobs. My nose flared as I stared at the man. “Get out” I spat and the man flew out of the room. I sighed and began to gather the chairs and close the window. Runaway brides were not my cup of tea but I didn’t think I would one day get married to a woman that wanted to run away from me. I still remembered when my uncle told me the company problems. The Police was about to start a private investigation of our company for a tax fraud. And the only way to take their eyes of it was for us to buy shares into one of our little rivals company. Mr. Patrai was the CEO. I went to him to discuss the shares buying but he said he wanted more. When my uncle probed further, he said he wanted a marriage between our families. That was bad news. If one of us got married to one of Mr. Patrai’s daughters, it would mean that she would have a sharesin our company. This was the rules, my great grandfather had put in the company. We didn’t want that. Then I had an idea. It was that one of us would get married to his daughters but we will have her sign away her rights, to those shares, on the wedding day, as part of the marriage certificate. So that was settled but another problem came up. None of my uncle’s four boys were responsible enough to get married. Half of them were on drugs and the others were chronic womanizers. My uncle had performed a vasectomy on them. He didn’t want any grandchild yet. So in that state of hopelessness, I decided to be the groom. Then I met Natalya, my intended wife and immediately took a big dislike to her. She had the darkest hair and eyes I have ever seen but she had extreme daddy’s girl issues. Obviously she didn’t want to marry me but I didn’t care. I had a goal in mind. She signed away her rights at the wedding but what I didn’t expect was her making up lies, saying she wasn’t Natalya. I thought she was matured but I guess that I was wrong. After making sure that the window was tightly closed and the chair was kept at its place, I left her bathroom. I noticed that she was fast asleep when I noticed the slow breathing. I took one last look at her before I switched off the light and headed to my room. ************************************************************************************* Sweat dripped down my arms, as I ran on the treadmill. The time was 4am and I was already up. I liked to start my day with a run but this time I had to use the gym. I wanted to watch Natalya. I left the gym and was heading to my room when I got a phone call from my best friend and also business partner, Andrei. “Hey, I’ll talk to you later—“I began but Andrei cut me off. “Don’t hang up. Your uncle wants to see you. I think it’s urgent” he said. A lot of things began to go through my mind. Has the last investor pulled out? What was our business position on the stock market? Regardless, I got ready and left for the office. On getting there, I noticed that everything was alright. Finally I got to seat with my uncle. He discussed a lot about the family and when I thought he had cleared his mind, he clearedhis throat. Now he was about to let the cat out of the bag. “Yuri who did you marry?” he asked I raised an eyebrow. “What, I don’t understand?” “Why don’t you find out. “He said and began staring into his tablet. Immediately I left his office. My secretary began to follow closely. “Sir you have—“she began. “Cancel it all, tell Marcus to get the car” I said and walked off. 20 minutes later I was on my way out my blood was boiling on the inside. How could I have made such mistake? Then I remembered the words of my said bride. What if I got married to a spy from our rivals? The thought that made me almost go crazy was, getting married to a woman on cover, to ruin me. I got home and flew out of the car and right in front of her bedroom. I was about to knock when I heard her talk. I pushed open the door and her eyes widened. She was scared shitless. I dragged her from the bed. Pushing her against a wall. I stared right into her eyes and got closer into her personal space. “Who the hell are you?” I growled. Her eyes widened more and she began to shake. “ Answer me!” my voice made her flinch. “ I… I am nobody. I… I am not Natalya.” she stammered. I watched her. she was saying the truth. I left her room immediately. “Marcus!” he walked to me. “ I need answers” I barked. I grabbed a bottle of vodka and a glass off the bar. I gulped down a glass to calm my raging self. “ sir I have something for you” I heard a voice from behind me.I turned immediately and grabbed the file in his hands and gave him the glass. I opened the file. The first thing that caught my eye was the side by side picture of two women, that looking incredibly alike. On one picture was written Natalya Patrai and on the second picture was written Katia Ivanovo.
