The truth comes to light
What the hell did I just read?
Katia Ivanovo. Celebrity reporter. She is known for her expert skills in finding out everything, even if it were in the mouth of a lion. She is 25 year old and is rumored to have dated the president’s son.
Then there are pictures of her all over the pages. My eyes widened as I stared at her pictures.
She was a spitting image with Natalya.
Then I flipped the page and It was blank.
“Marcus!”
“Boss” he came running.
“Is this all you could find?” I threw the file at him. He picked it up and didn’t say a word. I ran my hands through my hair. What did this mean? Who is this person? I wanted to go to this lady’s room and make her talk but I felt it was useless.
Think. Think.
“ Marcus get the car, we are leaving!”
In the car, I called Andrei to get me a meeting with Mr. Patrai. I got into my office and took the secret elevator to the underground office.
“Boss they are waiting for you “one of my men said. I nodded. I opened the door to the board room and Mr. Patrai was sitting beside Andrei.
“Good. Now where is your daughter?” I said. I could see his eyebrows come together in confusion.
“ she’s at your house, as your wife” he said.
“ nah. Tell me the truth, aren’t I too old for lies” I barked.
“ I gave my daughter to you in marriage Mr. Yuri” he said his voice shaky. I stood up and slammed my hands on the table. He flinched.
“ lies! Now for the last time. Mr. Patrai, where the hell is your daughter!” the man was too scared to speak. Andrei dragged me to a corner.
“ Bro calm down” he said.
“ no! I can’t” I said staring into my friend’s eyes. he already saw through me. My uncle would raise hell if he got to the answers before me.
“Dude I got married to an absolute stranger, I have to find the truth. What if she is the daughter of one of our rivals? or worse off, she is a fed agent, under cover” I saw his eyes widen at the last part. I picked my suit and left the office.
On my way home, I told Marcus, to get in touch with my private investigator. I need to know everything about Katia Ivanovo. I wanted a DNA test to be done on the Ms. Ivanovo and Mr. Patrai. I also told them to go look for Natalya Patrai.

I was about eating when I spotted Marcus.
“In my study” and the young man left.
Pushing the chair back, I stood up and left for my study.
“Speak” I said taking a seat.
“The young lady has fled the country to Ukraine” he said
“With her lover?” I replied and he nodded.
I wasn’t surprised.
“Here is more information about Ms. Ivanovo” he kept her file on my table.
“What of the DNA test?”
“It’s not yet ready” he said. I stared at him raising an eyebrow.
“Ms. Ivanovo is not a threat. She is just a News Anchor and reporter of Star corporations” he said.
“You can never be too sure. I will go through it” I glanced at the file on the table.
A week passed and I didn’t hear from the private investigator. I threw myself into work. Our company was not doing well in the stock market and that problem had to be fixed ASAP.
On my way, rushing to work that morning, I caught sight of Katia sniffing a flower, at the garden. For a weird reason I stood still staring at her, till my phone began to ring. After work, as I was getting out of the car, a petite figure was pacing the entrance. When I looked further, I noticed it was Katia.
“Mr. Stalin how dare you!” my ears bled at her voice. Gosh she had a loud voice for a small body.
“Let’s go to my Study Ms. Ivanovo” I said.
“ oh its Ms. Ivanovo now huh?” she glared at me before walking off. I resisted the urge to smile.
I signaled my men to let her in. The moment I walked in, I saw her standing hands crossed over her chest. I mentally prepared myself for it.
“ Mr. Stalin how could you have known that I was not your wifebut you kept me bound in your home, like an animal!” she slammed the file, which had her name written boldly on it on my desk.
“oh—I rubbed my eyes— you saw it” I said. I must have left it in the garden last night, while going through it.
“ is that all you have to say?” she put her hands on her waist as she glared at me. I smirked. She is a feisty one.
“Mr. Stalin if you do not want to say any reasonable thing, I will go down to the court tomorrow and get a divorce” she screamed.
“ I dare you” I growled. She jumped.
“ you will have to sit through all these” I stared into her eyes and she winced. I liked that I still had a hold on her, even though she seemed hard to control.

Life went on as usual. I was submerged into work. One day after I came home from work, while I had gone upstairs to freshen up, I could hear chatter and laughter coming from downstairs. I went outside to check and there I could see Katia laughing with the gardener.
Her hair fell loosely down her back and she was dressed in flowery gown that stopped mid-thigh. Her skin was fresh. She was laughing too. She looked nothing like the person I had gotten into an argument with, days ago.
And deep down I was afraid to say, not only was she beautiful but I was slowly getting attracted to her.
