Anguish consumed my heart as I spent the morning at Parker Technology, trying to find a way to prevent Miranda from revealing my true identity to Emma. The mere idea of seeing Emma's green eyes filled with disappointment and sadness was almost unbearable. I knew I needed to act quickly.
After finishing my work in the morning, I got into my car and drove to Emma's apartment. I was determined to confront Miranda and resolve this issue before it was too late. However, when I arrived there, I was greeted by a scene I didn't expect.
Emma was on the couch, embracing Miranda, both in tears. My heart sank at the sight of them. Miranda had already disclosed the truth, and it was too late to undo the damage.
I swallowed hard and approached, not knowing what to expect. “What happened?”
