“Host has connected to the Thunder Cloud Sea Realm.”
“Connection duration: three days…”
“During the tutorial mission, host receives novice protection: **unlimited exploration deaths**!”
“Host has temporarily established a contract with the pet…”
“Explore freely…”
Su Ping was still lost in the ancient, vast world before him when a stream of system notifications jolted him back.
He froze and immediately latched onto a dangerous phrase: **deaths**.
A dark premonition welled up in his chest.
Suddenly, a massive shadow blotted out the sky above him, as if night had fallen.
Su Ping looked up—and his pupils dilated to their limits.
A pair of sky?covering, world?blocking giant wings stirred the endless sea of clouds. They seemed boundless. Dark purple feathers crackled with thunder and lightning; with each slow beat, countless clouds surged and roiled at their edges.
What…
What in the hell is that?!
Su Ping was dumbstruck.
Not even a colossal blue whale could compare to a single feather of this beast!
Before he could fully process the shock, less than three seconds later, a violent, savage gust of wind tore down from the sky. Countless wind blades sliced through the air.
Run…
The thought had barely formed in his mind when searing pain exploded across his entire body. His vision went dark, and blackness crashed over him.
Am I dead?
Su Ping stared blankly. But soon, light flooded back like a tide. He opened his eyes. The ancient, wild scenery was still there—but his surroundings had changed. No longer surrounded by giant trees, he now stood amid massive, overgrown grass.
Recalling the system’s earlier message, Su Ping’s mind cleared.
So this was the so-called **unlimited deaths**?
He could die as many times as he wanted here?
Relief washed over him—only to be instantly replaced by the urge to scream curses.
He couldn’t die permanently, but the tearing, dismembering pain was something he never wanted to endure again. It hurt too badly!
“System, I want to go home.”
Su Ping’s tone turned pleading, ready to beg for mercy.
“Mission incomplete. Early return unavailable.”
“…”
“Warning: First count of verbal abuse.”
“…?!”
Su Ping’s face turned ashen. He had to stay in this savage, monster?infested world for three days? How many times would he have to die?!
He felt like breaking down. What a scam system!
rustle~
A faint sound suddenly reached his ears.
Su Ping’s hairs stood on end. He spun around in terror—only to find the source was the Thunder Rat at his feet. The tiny creature had followed him here and was now trembling violently.
It had clearly seen the sky?darkening beast too, and its courage had been scared right out of it.
“Poor little thing… you’re stuck here dying with me for three days too…”
Su Ping sighed, feeling a strange kinship with the rodent.
Perhaps because of the temporary contract, he felt a warm bond with the Thunder Rat. Seeing it shake, his heart softened. He knelt down and stroked it gently to calm it down.
As he petted it…
Su Ping suddenly remembered why they’d been sent here in the first place: to train this little thing.
To triple its power within a week.
It sounded impossible—but the mission’s target was it!
This terrifying breeding ground was made for it!
“If I train it hard enough, maybe we can end this early. It’s tough, but I’ll never know unless I push it.”
With that, Su Ping’s gaze slowly shifted to the now?calmed Thunder Rat in his hand.
The shivering rodent gradually relaxed under Su Ping’s warm touch, as if finding a safe haven.
But at that moment, a sharp, overwhelming sense of dread shot through it.
It glanced nervously in the direction of the feeling—and froze.
Its temporary master was staring at it with eyes glowing with a terrifying light!
Thunder Rat: “?!”
“Come on, you’ve got this.” Su Ping grinned.
The Thunder Rat’s fur stood straight up.
It realized something was horribly wrong and thrashed violently in Su Ping’s hand, its strength shocking.
Though an agility?type Star Pet, it was far stronger than an ordinary human like Su Ping. It broke free instantly.
“Come back!” Su Ping shouted.
