Ray’s last stop of the day was the Sunset Tavern. He acquired Alexis Davenport’s address from her driving record. The photos in Gary Martin’s phone showed him what Alexis looked like beyond her deer-in-the-headlights driver photo. More research uncovered her employment as a bartender at the Sunset Tavern.
It was dim inside the tavern despite the bright afternoon. He was glad the law prohibited smoking in bars, so his suit would not absorb the noxious odor of cigarettes. There were about ten people scattered in pairs throughout the booth area, eating lunch. The red vinyl of the booth benches extended to the bar seats, where a few patrons drank alone.
