Autumn and Chrissy were on their morning walk when they spotted Julie and Teddy half a block away. Chrissy barked in greeting and Teddy replied. Julie waited until they caught up, then they continued their stroll.
“Did you hear about Vaughn Evans?” said Julie.
“What about him?”
“He was arrested for embezzlement and the murder of Gary Martin.”
Autumn stopped short. Ray did not mention this to her, and she felt betrayed. She shook off her anger and responded.
“Do you think he did it?”
“Well, theft is his motive. And he was often with the victim or knew his schedule, giving him ample opportunity.”
Autumn considered these points.
“Could be. But what about Travis Mitchell?”
