Mira's POV
He…just froze.
It wasn't the normal kind. Not the kind where someone just zones out looking at the city. This was different.
Wrong.
Before I even understood it I’d felt it. In a sharp way, the air right next to me had shifted.
His breath had caught and then slowed down. Too controlled as though something had just clicked behind his eyes and for one second he was here with me warm and real and the next second he was somewhere else like he was solving a problem I couldn't see.
"Sebastien."
Nothing. Not even a blink.
From the huge view his eyes dropped. Past the rust colored rooftops. Then past the little courtyard. Past the yellow taxis lined up in the snow below. All the way to one window. Seventh floor.
His stare? Jeez! I followed where he was looking. And it was just
