Chapter Twenty-Two MAVERICK The moment my eyes meet hers, it’s as if time stands stills. She’s just as beautiful as the last time I saw her. My heart lurches forward, and though my feet feel frozen to the floor, I force myself to walk toward her. The fact that she’s shocked, with her jaw dropped, makes not telling her I’d be here worth it.
