Elizabeth looked down at Jacob, who was still by her and Daisy's side. "How am I going to get myself down?" She sobbed, Jacob looked up at her and placed his hand on her thigh, "I can help you down now of you'd like but you are doing great," He replied, not wanting to give up she held her head high, "No I'm fine, just wanted to make sure there was a way down." She said with a slight smile, trying to rake her mind off of the situation. "So, what do you think?" he asked, "Give me a minute, and I will let you know..." She replied. As time passed, she hated to admit it, but she was actually starting to enjoy herself, "So what do you see in my brothers? Jacob asked. She looked at him nervously, "You don't have to answer, I'm just curious, is all." he added."If I am being honest, I don't really know how it happened." She said. Jacob was quiet, not because he was being ignorant but because he was assessing the likelihood of James allowing Mason to use his compulsion, or even worse still, doing it himself. Jacob decided to ask Elizabeth another question. This one was just as heavy, "Do you like it here, Elizabeth?" She looked at him. He had taken his hat off and was looking at her with his kind eyes, "I do, I was a little worried at first, I thought the job sounded too good to be true, you know, the high pay, the time off and freedom to come and go, but your kind reputation procedes you, I spoke with some of the ladies at the agency I use to work for and they said the job was a once in a life time opportunity and if I didn't take it they knew many people who would." She looked over at his hand that was still on he thigh, he realised it was still there and quickly moved it away, "would you like me to take a step back, if you want her to speed up the pace a bit just gently tug the reins." he said. "Oh, I don't know if I could. I don't want to fall off," She said with a fearful look on her face, "Hold on," he said as he brought Daisy over to the fence, he climb upbon to the fence and then on the back of Daisy, he placed his hands around Elizabeth and on to top of hers, they were both now holding the reins, he gave the signal and she transitioned into a gallop which made her feel giddy. After a few minutes, Jacob gave another tug in the reins, this time signalling Daisy to slow down, "You're a natural, soon enough you will be able to ride like that on your own." Jacob said, sliding off, leaving just Elizabeth sitting on Daisy. "Should we get Daisy back in?" She asked. "If you are ready, do you want me to give you a hand getting off? All you need to do is swing your leg round and hop on down, I can catch you if you lose your balance, I am right here." He said reassuringly. Elizabeth swung her leg around and the she lowered herself down. She managed to do it without help, " See, what did I say? You're a natural!" Jacob said. He was surprised at how confident she was, considering how they had started, with her being so nervous. Jacob walked Daisy back to the stables, Elizabeth followed them closely behind, "Thank you Jacob, I really do appreciate how patient you have been with me," Elizabeth said, she was twiddling her thumbs nervously. "It was my pleasure, mam," He said with his sexy southern account, "May I ask you a question?" She said,"Shoot." he replied. "How come you have an accent but your brothers don't?" Jacob turned to face her, "Onve upon a time they too had an accident just like mine but they leaned that in business people respected a man a whole lot less when they sounded like me, so they adapted, moved away, I think being around city folk helped them lose their accent pretty quickly." He replied. "Well, that is a shame, I think it is important to stay true to who you are. Besides, I like they way you talk," she said with a smile, "I could not agree more, miss Elizabeth, I could not agree more." Jacob replied bashfully, it wasn't often he recieved a compliment, spending time with Elizabeth he soon understood just quickly his brothers had taken a liking to her, she was special, there was something about her that just drew you in. "Should we head back?" Elizabeth asked. "Jacob closed the gate behind Daisy, "I think so, we have earned ourselves some ice cream," he replied. Elizabeth liked the sound of that, and she turned around to head black, she felt something on her shoulder, she looked towards the source of this feeling at it was Bam he had placed his head gently on her shoulder, "Hello there," Elizabeth said, placing her hand on the side of his head, "Well now that there is a surprise," Jacob said in shock. Bam was not the type of horse to just be friendly with anyone. He was very particular, and he had a good sense when it came to people. Jacob handed Elizabeth a small red apple from his pocket. She placed out her palm flat, and Bam gently ate it. "Heck, he'll love you forever now," Jacob said with a chuckle, She turned to look at Jacob and he placed his arms on Bams gate, Bam nudged into him, "That's his was of showing he is comfortable, I like to think of it as a hug" He continued. Moving away from the gate, he made his way out the stables, Elizabeth followed him, The walk back to the Manor was a decent one, "How often do you ride?" She asked. "As often as I can, Miss Elizabeth," he said as he placed his hat back on his head. Makimg their way down the overgrown path they spoke about favourite foods, movies of interest amd just as Jacob had asked what books she liked to read she screamed "watch out!" Tugging at his arm, she pulled him hard, he looked back at where he was stood, there was a snake, it was just a small grass snake, "He won't hurt us." Jacob said reassuringly. "I wasn't sure if you had seen him there, I was afraid you were going to hurt him," She replied, It was true, Jacob was so wrapped up in their conversation he would have trampled the little green snake and before he'd have realised, it would have been too late for the ravishing reptile. "Thank you, and thays coming from both me and our friend over here," he said, " Don't mention it she replied, shrugging it off. The snake slipped into the tall grass, and they carried in, heading back to the manor, until they reached the tall french doors that sat at the back of the manor.
