When I got home, I quickly changed into something more comfortable—an oversized sweater and leggings—before diving into some household chores. I always felt better when my Place was neat and tidy, and today was no different. By the time dinner was ready, I had the apartment in order, and I couldn’t help but feel a little sense of accomplishment. Tonight was Monday, which meant Fara would have Tuesday off—our usual night to stay up late and talk longer than we should. When Fara got home, she took a quick shower and joined me at the dining table. “So,” Fara said, taking a bite of her food, “how was your day at Blackwood Tower?” I felt my face light up with excitement. “It was great! I met my team, saw where I’d be sitting—my cubicle is right next to this huge glass window in the corner.
