Episode 1

Mark's POV

I had just stepped down from my white Lamborghini car, to meet a cheering crowd and a good number of media personnels trying to get a speech and take a photograph of me. A red carpet beautifully designed with flowers was laid on the floor and five heavily armed men stood ahead of me, trying to clear the way.

"Announcement! Announcement! It is with a great pleasure in our heart that we announce the presence of a very important personality." A voice came from the public address systems, the moment I walked into the glass building and everywhere became quiet. "Make welcome, Derrick Lucas. A successful young entrepreneur and one of the top five richest youth in America"

The crowd stood up and applauded enthusiastically with a loud cheer. They stared at me with great respect and just as usual, I felt like a semi god. I couldn't help but smile. This is one of the moments I have been waiting for. To be awarded as one of the richest youth in the country.

Do you know the benefits attached to this award? I will be given the privilege to meet with important men in the country. This would pull more share holders to dad's company. I will be given a free vacation ticket to any part of the world, I will be receiving many invitations to be the guest of honor to the parties of people with high caliber.

Right now, I am about to receive this great award and it feels as if I am dreaming. The clappings increased and an enchant of "Go Derrick" from the crowd filled the auditorium. I nooded my head and stepped on the red carpet towards the high table.

My dad was seated on the high table with some other influential men in the country. He nooded as soon as our eyes met, he must be so proud to have a son like me. Who wouldn't be?

I let out a sigh as I got to where the prime minister stood with the award medal in his hand. He handed it over to me and the camera lights came flying here and there.

The crowd clapped as I walked back to my seat. The event continued and just when my patience was about running off, the event came to an end.

I stood up and my bodyguards got to work, two at the front and the other two at the back. They cleared the way, protecting me from the annoying media and ladies who wouldn't stop acting like hungry dogs who had just seen a delicious bone.

I got into the car, George my secretary followed suit and the driver zoomed off.

"Congratulations sir. Your dream has finally come to reality. You have always wanted this right?" George chuckled.

I forcefully closed the newspaper in my hand and turned sharply at him with a furrowed brows. He stopped smiling immediately.

" My dream?" I repeated in disbelief.

He nooded, confused.

I gazed at him intently. " This is just the fragment of my dream. My dream is to become the richest youth in America, get that?"

" Yes sir" He replied, nervously.

I shook my head and continued with reading the newspaper. If it was another person in his shoe, I would have fired him right away but George is different.

My eyes were still fixed on the newspaper when we heard some gunshots and the car came to a halt.

"What the heck is going on?" I asked, confused.

"We're under attack sir" The driver replied and right before my eyes, a bullet passed through the driver's heart and he became unconscious instantly.

"Holly Molly Again?" I exclaimed.

I have never been this scared before as series of thoughts ran through my mind.I had to quickly think of a way to escape. I pushed open the door in a bid to run away but came in contact with the masked men.

Before I could try to make any move, I felt a heavy blow on my head, i felt dizzy as everything blacked out.

When I opened my eyes, I was surprised to see myself in a car. The car wasn't moving and I was the only one in it. Filled with confusion, I pushed the door open and quietly sneaked outside. I suddenly heard a scream causing me to halt, I whirled around to see one of the kidnappers advancing menacingly towards a lady with a knife in his hand.

I quickly picked up a stick which was lying carelessly around and struck him hard on the head.He fell to the floor and became unconscious immediately.

I let out a deep breath of relief. My eyes fell on the three other men whom were lying unconsciously on the floor and then it dawned on me that I was saved by the young lady. I wanted to ask her how she was able to defeat three hefty men alone but I was more concerned about leaving the vicinity. So I let out a sigh and walked away.

Few steps away, I was stopped by the sudden appearance of the stranger whom I met a while ago.

"Hey. Where do you think you are going, leaving me behind?" She fired, breathing heavily.

I took a closer look at the lady before me. She had a sculpted figure which was twine - thin. Her waist was tapered and she had a burnished complexion. She had a blue eyes and her moon shadow black hair tumbled over her shoulders. A pair of archered eyebrows looked down on sweeping eyelashes. She wore a weird looking dress which looked old fashioned and to worsen it, she was bare footed.

"Are you even listening to me?" The weird lady half yelled, bringing me out of my thought.

"I need a favor in return for saving you" she said, solemnly. A set of dazzling angel-white teeth gleamed as she spoke. I couldn't believe my ears but I wasn't surprised, she is a lady. And just as expected, they would never stop amazing me.

I let out a deep breath. "What do you want? Money?" I asked with furrowed brows. I just wanted to pay back the favor and get rid of her.

Her eyes lit up with happiness. "I don't want money. I just need an accomodation" She pouted her lip.

Oh I see. She must be one of those ladies from a poor background who takes advantage of any opportunity to enrich their family.

I scoffed. " Just accomodation? That isn't a big deal. My personal assistant will soon be here, he will arrange one for..."

Before I could complete the sentence, she cuts me off. "Not just any accomodation, I want to live in the same house with you"

I threw my head back in surprise. She wants to live with me?.I bursted out laughing.

" What is funny?" She asked, confused.

"You of course."

"But I am serious"

When I noticed that she wasn't smiling, I stopped laughing and wore a serious face "Look weirdo. I know you find me handsome and all that but you are not my type. I mean, take a look at your dress. You are so shabbily dressed. Disgusting." I hoarsed.

She scoffed. " Handsome my foot. First of all, my name is Luna and the way I dress is none of your business" She fired. " And I am not interested in you. I came here to get something. I don't even know where I can lay my head and I heard is usually dangerous at night in the human world. So I need your help, it is just a favor" she added.

" In the human world? What do you mean by that?" I asked, confused.

She hesitated. " What I meant is that, I feel like an alien in this world because I can't even remember who I am or where I am from. I think I have lost my memories and I'm scared." She cracked.

" I am sorry but I can't help you" I coldly replied.

"You don't have a choice, I was almost killed trying to save your life. If I didn't intervene, you would be wounded or probably dead by now. So you should be grateful" She said through gritted teeth. So fierce. She must be one of a kind.

" Just shut it! I know you saved my life and all but don't think you can use it to blackmail me" I half yelled and she burst out crying.

"I...I don't have a place to stay. I don't even know where this place is, I don't even have a family. I am scared, please take me in" She cried.

" Can you stop being dramatic? It won't work on me" I fired,

But she wouldn't stop crying. I turned to see some people staring at us. Gosh! She was drawing attention to me and I couldn't let people see me with such a lady, it would tarnish my status and reputation. "Fine. You can come live with me but you must try to get your accomodation within the next two months"

She looked up, surprised."Really?"

I kept silent, running my eyes around the environment and waiting for my personal assistant to show up and get me out of here.

" Thank you" she exclaimed and hugged me causing shiver to go down my spine.
