"This is absurd!" A blonde haired elder proclaimed angrily followed by a silent nod.
"Argon," Another elder nudged him and the blonded haired man fell silent but the rage in his eyes could be seen.
"It seems I'm ignorant about the updates that's going on in my Pack. Tell me, Beth. If really, you were so busy like you said, what happened to your son and his incompetent eunuch?" He leaned forward, a sly smile on his lips as that of a fox.
Aquila was in a tight spot as she didn't know what to do at this point. Should she be happy that the crippled prince has a destined mate or should she be sad and angry that she was rejected?
If it happens to be the latter, how was she going to cope in this place when the power struggle here is very transparent?
"Mm… I-" Lady Beth stuttered, as she tried to think up something.
Getting annoyed, Alpha Maverick banged his fist on the throne's arms and a dent appeared on it.
"Do not lie to me. Tell me who is this person that is so bold to be in my Pack and become my 'Soon-to-be' daughter?" He asked angrily and lady Beth's head bowed slightly as though she was trying to hide something.
"It's a maiden, my lord," Prince Sebastian said with utmost difficulty.
"And does this maiden lack a name?" Alpha asked, face cold.
A gulp sound came out from Sebastian as he said:" Her name is Salmon and… she's from our pack my lord. She's a good person and one fit for the throne. I do not need this man in woman skin! She doesn't have the right to rule with me and be my Luna. She doesn't worth it but Salmon does! My lord you have to give me just one chance to prove how true I am, pl-" Prince Sebastiansaid rapidly as he tried to get off the wheelchair to plead but he ended up stumbling on the floor.
Even seeing such an action from him. Alpha Maverick's expression and mood didn't alter one bit.
"Enough!" He roared.
"Such insolent and detestable character shouldn't have been from you! I expected more!" Alpha Maverick said with disgust.
Aquila shook her head at the drama being played before her. She couldn't believe that this was where her father had sent her to, a pack filled with disoriented wolves.
"I never expected I'd get to see such a farce on this honorable Pack. If it's all this child's play that plays around daily in this pack, then it doesn't deserve to be feared," Aquila blurted out and all eyes fell on her.
All eyes fell on her once more, but she was oblivious of it all.
Since the prince had another mate already, she should be sent away and another alternative be looked into.
"You are forbidden to speak until I say so. You are in my territory far away from your land and I have the authority here. Only if you want your head placed in the bellies of my trained beast then do not speak more, " Alpha Maverick said coldly and then got up.
Aquila scoffed inwardly at his work.
They don't scare her one bit.
She wouldn't allow the words of a mere Werewolf to over loud her sense of reasoning or instill fear into her.
Never!
She watched him leave the courtroom silently. His aura breaks any form of retortion.
She kept silent for a while and it was only her and the elders in the courtroom.
She wanted to ask about what next? Does she have to return to her pack or stay here?
'I do not think that's a good idea,' She thought then sighed helplessly.
"You are not welcomed here," She heard the fierce tone of lady Beth and then she turned towards her direction.
"It's not yours to make. I never came here because I wanted you all to welcome me. I only came here for a bargain, I'll have to excuse myself. If there's nowhere for me to leave, I'll look for a tree to hide myself in," Aquila replied, already making her way to the door.
"You shall go nowhere. You shall stay in this Pack and you shall serve the destined Luna as her slave,"Lady Beth said arrogantly stressing the last word.
She held her son's wheel and the duo made their way out with Sebastian sneering at her.
Aquila watched them as they left, the killing intent in her eyes was nothing to talk about.
She closed her eyes then opened it immediately, filled with resolute and determination.
"Just for this month I'll take all these. Somehow, I'm sure all these will change. Even though I knew from the onset that my life won't be an easy one here. I still accept the challenge," She muttered coldly then went after them.

" This is your new room. My lord asked me to keep you here for now. He doesn't want his 'new' daughter to be left outside in the cold, that was what he said," A maid said to Karlyn who had a stoic expression.
Aquila squeezed her face at the sound of the word 'Daughter'. She never agreed to be his daughter so why call her that?
She stared at the room before her and felt the urge to murder someone.
The more she stayed here, the more likely that she was going to kill someone.
'This room could barely fit 2 people. What's this?' She held her forehead as she packed her load in.
She turned to Michigan and Ava as she gave them an apologetic look. They both looked stressed out and tired even though they would not show it.
They were the only ones, who reminded her of her pack who chased her out.
She stopped the tears from rolling down as she stared at them.
"We haven't been here for not even half a day and you guys are already going through this. I'm so sorry," She said apologetically but they waved it off and flashed her a smile.
" Don't say that, my lady. You know that we are here for you always. It's just, it's going to pain us more because… we aren't going to see that much," Michigan replied but froze immediately as his face turned pale and he collapsed.
