Chapter Five

1245 Words
Waking up on February 7th, I noticed it's 10:38 am. I was supposed to meet with my crew to rehearse for the concert tonight, over an hour ago. This isn't good. My alarm didn't go off at 8:45 am, like it was set to do. Now, I'm super late and I'm gonna have to be as quick as I can, taking a shower, getting dressed, and fixing my hair. I should probably call my manager, Willow Gardner, and let her know what's going on and why I'm so late, before I take a shower, get dressed, and fix my hair. "Where are you, Grace? You were supposed to be here over an hour ago. What's going on? Did something happen?" "Nothing happened. Well, nothing terrible, at least. I know I'm late. I'm sorry. My alarm didn't go off this morning, so I slept in longer than I wanted to. I'm getting ready to head over there, right now. I called you, so you would know what's going on and why I'm so late. I'll see you in a half hour max." "Okay, Grace. Hurry now. Everyone's waiting." "Got it, Willow. Tell them I'm sorry and I'll see you all soon." "I will. Now, you better see us all soon." I hung up the phone, with Willow, and hopped into the shower. Twenty seven minutes later I arrive at the Performance Stadium and hurry into the back hall to my dressing room. As I get to my dressing room, Willow grabs my hand and drags me into the room. Then starts holding up dresses, jumpsuits, belly shirts with short skirts, strapless two piece dresses and other outfits up to me. Finally, Willow decides on a sexy, strapless, lacy, ruby red belly shirt with a tight fitted, lacy, ruby red short skirt. Then she grabs a pair of black high top boots. With my outfit on, boots on, hair and makeup done and all my jewelry on, I'm heading on stage to rehearse with my crew. We get into our spots and start rehearsing what we'll be doing for the concert tonight. I get into position upfront and lean up against a fancy looking table. Daphenie, Savannah, Nate, Andrew, Davis and Rick get into position on both sides of me at the table. They sing and dance with me. Then my two guitarists, James and Asia, find their spots. My pianist, Summer, takes her spot at the piano. After my drummer, Austin, gets into his spot we start rehearsing. While we rehearse Willow records us, so we can look at what our fans will be seeing us do at the concert and so we can make changes if necessary. Finally, we're done rehearsing and it's time to take a fifteen minute break. I hadn't eaten breakfast, because I was in such a hurry to get here, so I'm shaky and beginning to feel lightheaded. When I sat down in my chair, Willow rushed over to me. "You looked amazing! Add a little bit more sexiness to your moves and you're gonna be fabulous tonight." "Okay. I'll do my best to add a little bit more sexiness to my moves. But, Willow, do we have anything high in iron, vitamins and sugar? I haven't eaten breakfast yet, so I'm shaky and I feel like I'm getting lightheaded. Something that's cold to drink might help too. Can you see if someone could get me something to eat and drink, before we go rehearse again?" "Yes. Of course I can." Willow glanced around and spotted Nate coming our way. "Hey, Nate? Can you find Grace something to eat that's high in iron, vitamins and sugar and something ice cold to drink? She hasn't eaten breakfast, so she's shaky and feels lightheaded." "Yeah. I can do that, Willow. I'll be right back, Grace." "Thanks, Nate." A couple minutes later, Nate came back with a package of trail mix full of nuts, raisins and M&M's, a container of blueberries, orange sections, banana slices and peach chunks and a Reese's peanut butter cup-banana smoothie for me. He also had an oreo donut, a banana pudding cup and a slice of pumpkin bread for me to choose from. I ate the trail mix, then the container of fruits and chose the slice of pumpkin bread, ate that and then drank the Reese's peanut butter cup-banana smoothie. Willow ate the oreo donut, when Nate asked her if she wanted that or the pudding cup. Nate ate the banana pudding cup as we watched the recording of our rehearsal. Willow paused the recording in places she thinks we should work on. "Okay, Daphenie, Savannah, Nate, Andrew, Davis and Rick. I think you guys need to be positioned in this order: Nate, Daphenie, Davis, Grace, you're in the middle, then Andrew, Savannah and Rick. James and Asia. You were both amazing. Keep up what you did and you'll be set for the concert tonight. Summer. The same goes for you. Now, Austin. Turn up the volume, just a little bit and you're set for the concert tonight. Which leaves me to our star. Grace. Grace, you need to feel the music in your bones and add more sexiness to your moves and you'll be fabulous for the concert tonight. Everyone understand what they need to do?" We all looked at each other and nodded our agreement. "Well, then, shall we rehearse again?" Willow asked motioning us back to the stage. With everyone, including Willow, satisfied with the results of the second time we rehearsed, we're all taking an hour and a half break before we set everything up and get ourselves ready for the concert at 4:30 tonight. It's 2:50, right now, so I call my parents. "Hello, Grace. How are you?" "I'm good. How are you guys?" "We're good. What's up?" "I was wondering if you and mom could make it to the concert tonight, at 4:30. If you can't, that's okay. I know you both have things to do." "We'll be there. We wouldn't miss one of your concerts for anything. Not even the things me and your mother have to do. When should we be there?" "Sometime around 4:20. Oh, and I have backstage passes for you, mom, Anthony and Isabella. See you around 4:20. Tell mom you guys should wear something fancy or something as close to fancy as you have." "Okay, Grace. I'll let her know and we'll see you then. Bye, now." "Bye, dad." We hung up and I called Anthony. "Hey. Anthony I was wondering if you were coming to the concert tonight. I have a backstage pass for you, if you are. If you aren't, don't worry about it, I won't be upset or mad at you for not coming. I just wanted to know." "Hey, to you too, Grace. Of course I'm coming to the concert tonight. I love watching you perform. So, how could I miss it? Thanks for getting me a backstage pass, too. Oh, when should I be there?" "Sometime around 4:20. The concert starts at 4:30." "I know it starts at 4:30. See you around 4:20. I'll dress my fanciest." "I was just gonna tell you to wear something fancy. So, you read my mind." "Well, it's a concert with you and your crew. I know to wear something fancy, when it comes to a concert with you and your crew." "That's good. See you around 4:20. Bye, Anthony." "See you then. Bye, Grace."
