Chapter Four

Anthony and Isabella joined us as the phones were set to take a picture. We took a good picture and a silly picture on both phones. Looking at the silly pictures we laughed. Will and Paige took the five youngsters back to their table. I finished my apple crisp and peppermint hot cocoa, then grabbed two plates and two bowls from by the food tables. I filled them up with things to bring to my parents, who couldn't be here tonight, then wrapped them and placed them in a bag. Grabbing four cups, I filled two with hot apple cider and the other two with peppermint hot cocoa. I put lids on the cups and then placed them in the bag. Then, I had a last decision. I grabbed two more plates, four more bowls, three parfait cups and three cups with lids. I filled the plates, bowls and parfait cups with foods, snacks and sweets/treats/desserts. The cups I filled with a root beer float, hot apple cider and peppermint hot cocoa. I put the lids on the cups and, after wrapping all the plates, bowls and parfait cups, put it all in another bag and went to find Anthony and Isabella.
"You guys want to go home or are you up to seeing mom and dad?"
"Home. Tell mom and dad I love them and I'll visit them sometime soon."
"Okay. I will, Isabella. How about you, Anthony?"
"Home. I'm exhausted. So, tell mom and dad I also love them and I'll try to visit soon, too."
"Alright. I will do that for the two of you. Now, let's get you both home. That way you'll make it to your beds, tonight."
After Mr. Benson dropped Isabella and Anthony off at their houses, he dropped me off at my house. After helping me bring everything inside, he said goodnight and went home to his family. I changed out of my dress and into a pair of soft leggings and a long, soft, long sleeved shirt. I brought the bag of foods and drinks into my kitchen. After I put all the foods and drinks, I brought home for me, away where they go and grabbed the keys to my Jeep, I grabbed the bag of stuff for my parents and went outside to my Jeep. I put the bag on my passenger seat and pulled out of my driveway. So, I can go to my parents' house.
As I pulled into my parents' driveway, I saw my mom peak out of the blinds. I smiled, parked my Jeep, grabbed the bag and went inside to see my parents and give them their dinner, or tomorrow's dinner, from the Winter dance.
When I walked in the door, my parents greeted me with a smile and a hug. I brought the bag of stuff, from the Winter dance, into the kitchen and set it down on the table. Sitting down at the table, I pulled everything out of the bag. My parents looked at me and their smiles grew. Seeing them smile so happily made me smile, too.
"Grace. You didn't have to do this for us. But, we are thankful for your generosity. This all looks so amazing."
"Mom. Of course I had to do this for you. You're my parents. And, since you couldn't make it to the Winter dance, I figured the least I could do is bring you some things to eat and drink from the Winter dance. Oh, and Anthony and Isabella said to say they love you and they'll come visit sometime soon. They were too tired to come with me tonight. Anyways, did you guys eat dinner yet? I know it's getting late, so you probably have eaten dinner. If you have, this can be tomorrow's dinner."
"Yes. We've had dinner already.But, we'll have this for dinner tomorrow. It's getting real late. It's nice that you've brought us this stuff from the Winter dance. But, now, I think you should go lay down in your old room tonight. You look really tired, too. So, stay over tonight and you can leave in the morning. You shouldn't drive home tonight, knowing you're tired and need to rest. Sleep here tonight and go home tomorrow. Okay, my little princess?"
"Okay, dad. But, you know I'm not a little girl anymore, right?"
"I know. But, that doesn't mean you won't always be my little princess. No matter how old you are, that won't change."
"Alright. I guess I'll stay the night. Goodnight, then, mom and dad. See you in the morning."
"Goodnight, Grace." They replied back, as I went to bed.
