Unknown POV "Yes ma'am."He spluttered. "I won't take it lightly with you if you fail again, for f**k's sake___just to get rid of that bitch......... " Came a woman from the other end. " I promise there won't be a mistake this time around. Consider it done; we're at the hospital already. " He reassured her. " Hmph, a bunch of cowards, I want good news this time as you promised, and if you repeat that nonsense you call a mistake, I will deal with you myself, and I am deducting $200 from your next pay... "She snarled. "No, ma'am please don't, I promise this time....... "I promise this time, I promise this time, I promise this time.... blah blah.... that's all you're good at, for eight f*****g months !!!! ."She cut him off angrily. "I will try harder... " " TRY ??!!!!! , did I hear you say TRY?." She snapped; once again, this man is completely useless,s, she thought. "No, I will do it".He said firmly. "As if, anyways the better..." She sneered, and with that, she hung up without waiting for his response. "Ha !!!, this evil woman, I better not get on her bad side." He mumbled and turned to his minions. " Let's go, boys," He said authoritatively. "Yes, boss," The six minions chorused. Aiden's POV " Straight to the point, Eric" I commanded with an intense tone Damn, I am feeling scared right now, I am having a hard time getting myself together. My mind is about to shut down. Eric can be a prick, but when it comes to work, he gets serious, and whenever he's like this, definitely something is wrong; right now, I am hella scared. I f*****g need an explanation. "Speak." I was already losing my patience. "Let's talk in the office, Aiden." With that, Eric starts to walk towards his office. I glanced at the surgery room for the nth time, I sighed and followed suit. Eric's Office "Eric, speak up." I couldn't help but speak. " um.... she is temporarily stable, but... she is carrying twins, but one seems to be weak while the other is strong ... so... "ERIC " This guy, lord!! "Huh?". He's trying to avoid my gaze, I couldn't help but sneer. What's going on in the fool's head? Only god knows. PPP "So?.....". Damn, man, do I have to remind him of his own words? "Ahem.... so we have two options, save the woman or.......... "Or ? ..... My tone was becoming scary, I just hope he's not implying what I had already predicted. " or the babies? "Eric's whole body was trembling. " what the hell are you saying " I snapped. Honestly, I don't even know how to digest this useless information. " I don't want you to tell me; I f*****g need an explanation. " I added. For f**k's sake, I need to understand the situation but here he is telling me to choose between the mother or the child. "Ok, here is it... Eric sighed; he picked up an iPad and wheeled it to my view. "Here's an explanation," he started... "Aiden, I'm afraid the situation is quite grave. Your ward, the expectant mother, has been suffering from severe malnutrition, likely due to a combination of poor diet and environmental factors. This has compromised her health and, by extension, the well-being of her unborn twins. The accident she was involved in has only exacerbated the situation......." why the hell is he avoiding my gaze? ****************************************** Eric's POV I had been avoiding the hawk and chicken look Aiden's been giving me. I was showing everything on the iPad and explaining it .... but, hell, the aura he was emitting when I accidentally met his dark and dangerous gaze made me shudder. "Need I remind you what you were saying ?". His voice was f*****g scary, his jaw was clenched. I picked up from where I left off with a chill in my spine. “And we're fortunate to have her under our care at this esteemed institution. Our leading expert in maternal-fetal medicine has taken charge of her case. Preliminary assessments indicate that the twins are at risk due to intrauterine growth restriction, likely caused by the mother's malnutrition. We're seeing signs of small for gestational age and potential developmental delays. However, with our exceptional expertise and our hospital's state-of-the-art facilities, we're confident in our ability to provide the necessary care and support. We'll be monitoring the situation closely, and I assure you that we'll do everything in our power to ensure the best possible outcome for both the mother and her twins. In the meantime, I strongly advise that we work together to address the environmental factors contributing to her malnutrition. A comprehensive plan will be put in place to provide optimal nutrition, counseling, and support to mitigate any further risks." I added with reassurance. " you better " He declared and left in graceful strides. I sighed in relief. This man is no different from a demon. I have been with him for more than ten years, but his devil-like attitude seemed to escalate, day by day. God of heavens. ******************************************
