Elodie tried to stop Sienna, but her friend was doing this deliberately. She waved and walked away without another word. Only Elodie and Evander remained at the bar, surrounded by its noisy, indulgent atmosphere. Feeling awkward, Elodie forced a smile. "Would you like a drink?" He was perfectly at ease. Sitting beside her, he told the bartender, "A brandy on the rocks, please." "Certainly." The bartender soon placed it in front of him. "Enjoy, sir." Elodie looked at him. "What brings you somewhere like this?" "Friends invited me." He smiled teasingly. "I didn't expect to find you here. Would you call that fate?" Instead of answering, she asked, "Where are your friends? What if they can't find you?" He raised an eyebrow. "Are you trying to send me away when I've only just arrived?"
