Damian acted as though he hadn't heard. In the near-total darkness, Elodie felt a strong grip on her shoulders. Then he pushed her backward onto the sofa. She fell into the cushions and tried to sit up, but he was already over her, kneeling on either side and pinning her lower body so she couldn't move. His breath was hot around her, yet the danger she felt chilled her to the bone. Fear made every hair on her body rise. "Damian!" She pressed both hands against his chest. "I'm warning you. Stay away from me!" Trying to calm herself and steady her breathing, she spoke through clenched teeth, though she hated to bring it up again. "Is there anything a man like you wouldn't do?"
