Chapter 15

Selene’s POV

"What do you mean you've never shifted." He stared at me with pity.

"I mean what you heard, now move." I pushed past him ready to go down the stairs.

"Hey I brought this to you." I turned around to see my dad’s arrow at his feet.

"You tried to touch it." A smile pulled my lips

"Never again." He then went back to the room I assume to shift.

"Meet you outside." I shouted and ran down stairs and out of the door.

Once I got outside nothing was happening everyone was on their toes ready for a fight but it was quiet nothing or nobody moved I knew this all too well it's the quiet before the kill.

I ran over to my grandpas side by the west of the territory, he stood chin up and confident welcoming the fight his face faltered when he saw me.

"Go back in the house!" He whispered yelled at me.

"No." Was my simple answer

"These rogues have killed 33 of my patrol obviously they're experienced and I knew who they will come for if they make it past us I need you in the house safe." He turned to me his eyes pleading.

"No it's my fault I'll fight, Grandpa I'm a werewolf hunter these rouges aren't anything to me." I pointed out.

"Why must you be so stubborn." He said angrier then I've ever heard him speak to me. "Take her to her room and lock her in there until this is over."

He spoke to these two buff guys on the side of him.

"No grandpa!" I stalked away from them while they got closer to me one grabbed me by my wrist while the other sling me over his shoulder.

"Get back to alpha I've got her." The guards deep voice made my body vibrate while he talked.

The other nodded and walked away towards my grandpa.

I kicked and squirmed but no luck as his grip got tighter so I soon stopped. I saw Levi coming from upstairs still in his normal form.

"Put me down!" I yelled to the guard and I got Levi’s attention he came walking over anger evident in his face one square shot to the face and the guard dropped with me in his grip.

I climbed from off of him and ran to Levi’s side come on we have to go outside.

We both stopped in our tracks once we heard a loud scream it was so loud that the ground shook and I felt a little pang on my heart I buckled a bit and Levi. Caught me.

"Are you okay?" He asked carefully examining me

"Yeah I'm f-" another One had me nearly in the floor.

"It started." The voice that I knew all to well spoke it was the guard that Levi had punched.

"Alpha gave me orders to get her safe to her room but you be stupid and risk your mate’s life."

The guard spoke before running toward the door shifting mid way shredding his clothes to pieces.

"He's right." Levi spoke with urgency as he slung me over his shoulder and up the stairs I kicked and tried to push away but again I wasn't doing anything but making myself tired he placed me on a stool and grabbed a sheet from the closet.

"Just in case." He gave me a forced smile.

"What if one gets in here then I'm helpless and dead." I spat the last part at him.

"They won't, it's for your safety Selene." With that he kissed my forehead wich made me hate this moment even more my heart sped up beating uncontrollably.

Control yourself I spoke to my wolf

Sorry grumpy but that's not me she spoke back in a mocking tone.

"Great" I muttered to myself.

I couldn't see anything but I felt something in me every time someone died from my pack a string felt like it was being plucked from my heart it hurt uncontrollably I've counted how many they've been and luckily for me it's been only 10 were doing good in our battle.

But 2 of those 10 could easily be Aaric, and papa.

The tears have made my skin sensitive also because of my furious wiping of my eye.

The door handle shook and fear grew inside of me.

At this moment in time I hoped Aaric was right that they wouldn't make it up here.

It shook more and my grandma walked in a smile wide on her face as she looked at the makeshift cuffs Aaric made.

"Well he ca-" I cut her off by holding up my hand motioning for her not to continue.

"Fine grumpy pants but the battles over." She smiled walking over to me.

"What about grandpa and Aaric." My nervousness came running back.

"Come." Was all she said fear still remaining in my heart.

Aaric’s POV

"You fought great, thanks for the help." Her grandpa grabbed my shoulders.

"Thanks means a lot." I smiled looking around to all the males that fought in the pack they were all standing around the kitchen as if waiting for something.

"This is something we do after every battle and since you've helped you have to be in it of course." I watched while he walked on the other side of the room in front of all the males.

First person to come out was a pregnant women she searched around frantically before she calmed she walked over to her mate and scanned him over huge smiles on both of they're faces she seen a cut on his lower arm she ran her thumb over it and then kissed it. They were like live struck kids I looked over to see everyone doing the same women carried babies in.

Their arms that the men had taken from them but still stood while they did that to every cut until they were done only then did they walk to some board they wrote they're name and a number down.

I searched around for someone particular and I saw her there with her grandma talking about something until her grandpa waved me over.

The closer I got the brighter the color on her cheeks got man was she beautiful wavy hair that cascaded down to her hips and the perfect physique her bright blue eyes like every color of the ocean mixed in one locked with mines.

"Go to the living room." Was all her grandma said and Selene grabbed my hand leading me.

Once we made it there her face was as red as a rouges eyes and she was nervous I could tell because she kept rubbing her palms together.
