He slid a photograph across the desk. A photograph of her. From the hotel. I've never seen a woman steal. His eyes narrowed. At least, not from me. Aria went still. Luca remembered. You stole my watch. He placed another photograph on the desk. Your chain. My ring. Aria's fingers curled into her palms. And three hundred dollars. Silence filled the office. I can explain, she whispered. I didn't ask for an explanation. His voice was calm. Somehow, that made him more frightening. Luca stood and walked around the desk. You disappeared the morning after. Something she was desperately trying to hide. Luca noticed the way her hand kept moving toward her stomach. His eyes followed the movement. Are you sick? Aria immediately dropped her hand. No. Then why are you hiding something? I’m not. Luca stepped closer. Everyone lies. He picked up the gold watch from his desk. The same watch she had stolen. I don't usually give people a second chance.” Aria stared at it. Then What do you want? Luca's gaze locked with hers. Three months. Her eyebrows pulled together. Three months of what?
