Aria arrived at Moretti Holdings at exactly 7:45 AM.
She had barely slept.
Not because she was nervous about the job.
Because she was going to spend the entire day around Luca Moretti.
The same man whose child she was carrying.
She stepped into the elevator and pressed the top floor.
“Just three months,” she whispered.
That was all she needed.
Three months to save enough money.
Three months to keep her secret.
Three months before she could disappear again.
The elevator doors opened.
“Good morning, Miss Bennett.”
Aria looked up.
A woman in a neat black suit was waiting for her.
“I’m Elena, Mr. Moretti’s executive assistant.”
“Nice to meet you.”
Elena handed her a tablet.
“Your schedule.”
Aria looked down.
“That's all?”
Yes, For today.”
She scrolled through it.
8:00 — Morning briefing.
9:00 — Meeting with the legal department.
10:30 — Business meeting.
12:00 — Lunch with investors.
2:00 — Contract review.
4:00 — Board meeting.
Aria looked at Elena.
“He doesn't have a break?”
Elena laughed.
“Luca Moretti doesn't believe in breaks.”
Of course he didn't.
Before Aria could respond, the office doors opened.
Luca walked out.
Black suit.
White shirt.
No tie.
His expression was as cold as ever.
His eyes immediately found Aria.
“You're early.”
Aria frowned.
“You said eight.”
“I changed my mind.”
She stared at him.
Luca walked past her.
“Follow me.”
Aria followed.
Her first task was simple.
Or at least, that's what she thought.
“Move my nine o'clock meeting to eleven.”
She typed it into the tablet.
“Done.”
“Cancel lunch.”
“Why?”
Luca stopped walking.
Aria immediately realized her mistake.
“Sorry.”
He turned around.
“Why did you ask?”
“Because your schedule says you have lunch with investors.”
“I don't want it anymore.”
She nodded.
“Okay.”
He continued walking.
“And remind me about the Singapore call at four.”
“I already have it on your schedule.”
“Good.”
Aria looked at him.
“Then why did you tell me?”
“So that you remember.”
She rolled her eyes the moment he turned away.
Luca suddenly stopped.
“Something funny?”
Aria's eyes widened.
“No.”
“Good.”
He continued walking.
Aria followed.
By noon, she had already answered thirty calls, arranged six meetings, printed contracts, sent emails, and changed Luca's schedule four times.
She dropped into the chair outside his office.
“This man is impossible.”
The office door opened.
Luca stood there.
“did you say something?”
Aria jumped up.
“No sir.”
He stared at her.
Then his eyes moved to the cup in her hand.
“Coffee?”
“Yes.”
“Black?”
“Yes.”
“Good.”
He turned to leave.
Aria blinked.
“That’s it?”
He looked back.
“What?”
“You didn't complain.”
“I didn't ask you to make it.”
Aria smiled.
“Then I’ll be learning.”
Luca's lips almost curved.
Almost.
Then his phone rang.
His expression changed immediately.
“Mr Moretti.”
He listened.
His eyes slowly moved toward Aria.
She noticed.
“What's wrong?”
Luca ended the call.
“Nothing.”
But he didn't look away from her.
“Come to my office.”
Aria followed him.
He closed the door.
“Sir What happened?”
Luca walked behind his desk.
“One of my men found something.”
Aria's stomach tightened.
“What?”
He placed a photograph on the desk.
Her photograph.
From the hotel.
Aria's face went pale.
“You remember this night?”
She forced herself to breathe.
“I don’t.”
Luca studied her.
“You're lying.”
Aria stepped back.
“I don't know what you're talking about.”
He picked up the photograph.
“You were the last person seen entering my hotel room after I was drugged.”
Aria said nothing.
“And you were the first person seen leaving.”
Her heart pounded.
Luca moved closer.
“So tell me, Aria…
His voice dropped.
“What exactly happened that night?
Did something happen between us?
Aria opened her mouth.
But before she could answer, she felt uncomfortable.
For the first time.
Her hand immediately went to her stomach.
Luca's eyes followed the movement.
His expression changed.
Are you pregnant?”
Aria froze.
