chapter 3

Alpha Kaden furrowed his brows, looking displeased as Alina clutched his arm. He didn't like being touched by an omega, especially one like her, who was clearly in a state of distress. “Let go," he said, his voice as cold as ice. Alina shivered at his tone and immediately released her grip, sinking to her knees.“Alpha, please forgive my insolence, I've been. I've been bullied!” With tears in her eyes, she exaggerated the events from earlier in the alley, portraying herself as a helpless victim of violence. in my last lite, l was the one who rescued her from the Gamas! Now, in this lifetime, without me around, it was clear she hadn't been spared! But looking at her, she didn't seem to have suffered any serious harm, maybe someone passing by had scared those Gammas off. Alpha Kaden showed no sympathy on his face.“This is something for the Lead Warrior to handle. Go find him.” With that, he turned to leave, as if he couldn't bear to spend another second with Alina. Desperation crept into Alina's expression, She knew this was her only chance to get close to an Alpha. Here yes darted around, and then they landed on me. A flicker of resentment flashed in her gaze. "No! Alpha, this involves someone else!" she shouted, successfully halting Alpha Kaden in his tracks. She reached out a trembling finger and pointed at me. “it's her! It's Ashly! She was here too!" My heart sank. The moment l'd dreaded had finally arrived. "She saw me being bullied, but she did nothing to help! She just stood at the mouth of the alley, watching coldly!" Alina wailed, her voice escalating into a shrill accusation."We're both omegas+how could she be so heartless? She must be jealous that i'm more popular than she is!" The crowd around us began to swell, murmuring and gossiping as they pointed in my direction. “Oh my God, that's so cold-hearted!" “As an omega, how could she standby and do nothing? is her heart made of stone?” "People like her are a disgrace to all omegas!" Alpha Kaden turned back, his gaze fixed on me once more! This time, his expression was even colder, filled with scrutiny and disdain. “ls what she said true?" he asked. I straightened my back and met his gaze.“lt is.” A gasp rippled through the crowd They probably didn't expect me to admit it so readily. “I saw it happen, but I'm not obligated to save her,"l stated clearly word by word. “The pack regulations don't require one omega to rescue another.l haven't broken any rules.” My words left everyone momentarily stunned! In the werewolf world, although there are no written laws, the strong protect the weak! Helping each other is an unspoken moral code among our kind. My actions were undoubtedly a challenge to this code. Alina stared at me in disbelief: she might've thought l would panic and start defending myself. “How.. how can you say that?"she stammered, trembling with anger Don't you have any compassion at all?* Compassion won't help me survive longer,"l answered calmly. This was a lesson l learned the hard way, at the cost of a life. Alpha Kaden's expression grew dangerous. He clearly didn't like my answer. As an Alpha, he desired obedient, united pack members-not someone like me, cold and selfish, a “freak.” "Very well," he spoke slowly, each word laced with icy fury.“It seems our pack's discipline needs some fixing. From today on, you're banned from the training grounds. As punishment, you'll be responsible for cleaning all the Gammas' barracks until i'm satisfied." it was a deeply insulting punishment. While omegas had lower status, they typically only handled minor domestic tasks. Making me clean up after those coarse Gammas was akin to throwing me into a den of wolves. I knew this was his warning-an indication of his growing disdain for me. I lowered my head. “Yes, Alpha.” I didn't resist or argue.l understood that any defiance would only lead to harsher consequences. As l turned to leave, l caught a glimpse of a satisfied smirk tugging atthe corners of Alina's mouth! Though she couldn't outright condemn me as she had in my past life, she had successfully turned Alpha against me, creating trouble in my wake. And this was just the beginning.
