The Past Pt. 3

I linked my dad, “I’d prepare for….some type of action. These guys are in their twenties….Drake just ripped one apart.” My dad growled, “TWENTIES?! Are they warriors?” I linked back, “They have to be.” Peter said, “Drake….” Drake shifted back. I snapped him clean and with clothes. He was breathing heavily. He growled, “That’s my daughter. What the HELL is wrong with everyone?! Tristan! Why weren’t you with her?” Tristan cringed, “I didn’t know she was coming out here. I was doing homework and she must not have wanted to disturb me.” Drake took a deep breath but nodded. He growled, “I’m so sick of this s**t! Sam has already been talking about that competition to go to Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts. For god’s sake Peter….I shouldn’t feel my little girl would be safer there than here! I’m leaning towards letting her compete when she’s fourteen to see if she wins just to keep her safe!” Fear gripped me. I looked at Elise. She looked startled too. She didn’t know about this competition yet. Peter and Chelsea though….they didn’t look surprised. Peter said, “She is safe here Drake.” Drake put his head in his hands, “I’m a s**t dad. I can’t protect my little girl.” Peter pulled Drake in for a hug. He whispered, “You can protect her, Drake. You are protecting her. She is safe here. She loves it here.” Drake whispered, “What if she’s safer there?”             I couldn’t stop myself, “What if she’s more vulnerable there? No one there cares for her there like they do here. She could go off on her own….like she does….who would look for her if none of us were there?” Drake startled but nodded at me. I let Brutus come forward, so I didn’t show my relief. I did not want to be around my brother if Melanie went off to high school in New York before he met her…. Alexander was bad enough when she was in the state and the possibility to meet her existed. At least Drake was thinking about it. If Melanie competed…..she’d win. She always won. Three years. I had three years to get them together. Warriors grabbed the remaining men. We all walked back in silence. Drake, Peter, and Garrett went into their office. Elise, Ray, and I went back outside. The second it was just the three of us Elise started bawling.                 I pulled her into a hug, “Elise?” She cried, “She’ll win! She’ll go to New York, and I won’t see her anymore EJ. She’s like my little sister! What about her and Alexander? What about Alexander’s feelings? What about Melanie? She’d be alone all the way in New York!” I said, “Shh….it’s not a done deal. You don’t know if Drake will let her go.” She cried, “If this stuff keeps happening he’ll have her compete and she’ll win.” I sighed, “I can pop you to her.” Elise shook her head, “No you can’t. You promised.” I cringed. f**k! It had to be an emergency. I sighed, “You could Skype or FaceTime her. You could call her and text her. She has a phone now right?” Elise nodded. The McAlister’s wanted her to be able to call for help after that incident with the rogues and witches. We’d come up with nothing about the attack. My parents were worried. I knew that. They didn’t like that there was no trail. I didn’t like it either. I said, “Hey….that’s three years away. Melanie could lose interest in dancing.” Elise shot me a look. I winced, “Ok, it’s unlikely, but we both know she won’t want to be away from her Xander like that.” Elise wiped tears away, “No….no she wouldn’t.”                  I held her for several moments. A pop sounded. My dad and Mom were in the yard. Two more pops hit my ears. I smiled at Alexander and Cassie. Another pop and my Cousin Bexley with our lead warrior Liam joined us. Cousin Emmaline popped in with the Blue Moon group. Surprisingly Dylan was not with them. Brooke popped in with Christopher Kyle. She was my cousin too. Not too much younger than me. Christopher kissed her. They split time between her pack and this one.  When Brooke turned eighteen they were coming here permanently though. Brooke has decided to let her brother lead her dad’s pack. Christopher was going to stay on with his siblings now and lead with Brooke at his side when she came of age. Alexander walked over to me. He linked, “Where is Melanie? Is she ok?” I sighed, “She left for a dance competition. She was fine.” He deflated. Peter, Drake and Garrett walked out. Peter walked over to Christopher and gave him a hug. He smiled, “Welcome home brother. Hello Brooke.” Brooke smiled, “Home to stay too. I conjured all our stuff to the wing you have set up for us. I’ll mostly be staying here. I uhh….accidentally shared my light with Christopher so….we can’t really apart right now.” Peter’s excitement was easily seen all over his face. He clapped Christopher on the back. He looked at me, “Don’t you get any ideas.” I laughed. Brooke frowned, “It really was an accident.” Christopher said, “I know. Can’t say I’m mad about it.”                 He turned, “Thank you all for coming. Alpha Johnson is blaming Melanie for the situation. He demands we return his warriors that attacked her.” I snorted, “What the hell? She was just dancing in the forest.” Drake growled, “Apparently they watch her. With binoculars or she’d smell them.” Alexander and I snarled. Peter said, “Well, Christopher, you have good timing. We’ll take over Alpha Johnson’s pack. That will be your pack. We’ll just get another expansion done on our main house. Just as we did Sebastian took on a pack. We’ll stay together like the Conners, and Daniels do.” Christopher smiled, “I’d be honored brother.” Sebastian and Susie Kyle walked out. She was pregnant with their first pup. Sebastian hugged Christopher. Ben McAlister and Peter’s dad walked up with warriors. Peter spoke, “Red Run. We will be taking over Two Peaks today. They attacked our Beta’s daughter.” Snarling sounded. Several warriors yelled, “Ladybug? Is she ok?” Peter put up his hands, “Mel is fine. She’s at her dance competition with warriors guarding her. She held her own as you all know she can. EJ, Elise, and Ray helped her take them down before we got there. They are in our dungeons, and they won’t be going home. Let’s go.”              We all grabbed hands and We popped them to the border. We went in quickly. Alpha Johnson was meeting with his pack. Alpha Johnson told them, “Our boys failed, but we’ll get them back. We’ll get the girl….she’ll be mine.” Alexander went into a rage like I’d never felt. I couldn’t stop myself from shifting. I moved to attack with him. He took most of them down with his pushing power. There were twenty-five men down screaming. I linked my dad, “I didn’t know he could do that many without me helping him.” My dad linked back, “Neither did I.” Their pack….some fought us but not many. Especially after Alexander had twenty-five of their pack members' heads explode. Alexander shifted back into his human form and attacked the Alpha. Peter shifted back. He raised an eyebrow at me. I linked Alexander, “Alexander…..he’s down.” He was. Alexander had beat him unconscious. He didn’t answer me. I shifted back and touched my brother’s arm and popped us to a spot our cousins liked to play in Blue Moon territory. Alexander snarled. Julianna spoke, “Alexander? Are you ok?” Alexander cooled in a second. He turned, “Just….we were talking over a pack.” Julianna frowned and gave him a hug. He hugged her back, “I’m ok Julianna. I just got really mad.” Julianna asked, “Why?” I smirked, “Yeah Alexander….why?”              Alexander shot me a look. He pulled back from Julianna, “We need to get back your dad and mom are there.” She smiled, “That’s where they popped off too. Dylan is going to be so upset. He’s in your territory.” Alexander laughed, “You should pop over and tell him where we all are.” He winked at her. She grinned broadly, “I’ll do just that.” I popped Alexander and I went back to Two peaks. Christopher smiled at us, “Well….you set it up Alexander and I knocked it out of the park. The Alpha is dead….not that he was hard to kill after you got through with him. You’ve got moves kid.” Alexander smiled, “Thanks. I train with my dad and Uncle Bjourn.” Christopher snorted, “That would do it.”              A pop sounded. Dylan had his hand on his hips. He glared at my dad, “SAINT GOD ALPHA PRICK! I JUST KNOW IT WAS YOUR FAULT I WAS NOT BROUGHT TO THE ACTION.” Jason snorted, “Not much action really. The Conners boys exploded people’s brains.” I bit my lip. That was not the right thing to say. Dylan huffed, “I missed them exploding people’s brains?! GOD! I missed the Mini pricks in action! I haven’t seen them explode people’s brains since….my wedding. You rob me of such things, Saint god Alpha prick . It’s just rude today of all day. Julianna, be the lovely partial fairy you are and pop me back to Saint God Alpha Prick’s territory.” I raised an eyebrow.              I hadn’t asked why he was in our territory. I shrugged that off. The rest of us that stayed behind handled everything. Everyone watched Alexander with a lot of respect if not curiosity. The fact that everyone didn’t know about his crush now was just sad. Dylan would’ve announced it to everyone had he been here. The only McAlister who seemed to catch on was Tristan. He didn’t say anything though. He and Alexander just had a staring contest. We popped everyone back. Our allies were already consolidating the pack. Cassie popped in and was able to sort out who should stay and who needed to be killed. There were a few more obsessed with Melanie. Alexander’s anger came back with a fury. It was tinged with a worry I didn’t understand. He had to know she was safe. I kissed Elise goodbye when it was time for us to go. He cheeks flushing reminding me of her early confession. She was ready. I was going to claim her as mine. Brutus was excited. He knew we couldn’t mark her yet, but….we were going to claim her as ours. Our group popped home. Dylan was there with Wesley and Buttercup.                 I asked, “Why weren’t you with your pack today?” Dylan snorted, “I was sent away for being too gleeful.” Buttercups sighed, “Dad….you were giddy that two pack members died in a rogue attack.” Dylan said, “Giddy….no darling girl. I was elated. The wicked witch of Blue Moon and her evil sidekick are dead. It’s a good thing.” I frowned, “Who died?” Dylan said, “Betty and Davis.” My eyes widened. Those were his parents. Buttercup shrugged, “They were just really sad dad. They were always hovering around our family. I think they were lonely” Dylan and Wesley growled. Buttercup sighed, “Wes…” Wesley growled, “I have been itching to kill them. I don’t like how they look at you. The only reason I didn’t kill them was because our packs are allies. I’m not sad they died. They were weird about you for some reason, and I didn’t like it.” Wesley didn't know they were her grandparents. Dylan and Travis had a massive falling out with their parents. Buttercup and Finn didn’t even know they were their grandparents.                  Dylan clapped, “And this is why THIS mini Alpha Prick is meant to be in my family. He gets me. No one is sad they are gone.” Buttercup sighed, “Dale and Debbie seemed sad.” Dylan said, “Ok two people. Two people are sad. You suggest throwing a party and you get sent to Saint God Alpha Prick. Where all party ideas go to die because he has no fun.” My dad snorted, “If you’ll excuse me….I’m going to call Lucas and ask what the hell I did to him and when.” Dylan yelled, “UMM HELLO THE SUMMIT! ALPHA PRATER! DO YOU NEED A REMINDER? MY EYES ARE STILL BLEEDING FROM THE PAPERWORK!” My dad snorted, “Lucas didn’t have any complaints.” Dylan stuck his tongue out at my dad’s back.             Dylan looked around, “Where is the moody triplet?” I frowned, “Huh?” I looked around. Alexander had disappeared. Dylan raised an eyebrow, “You know why he’s moody right? Or are you another one of those Alpha’s that needs their hand held by their beta? Which is...basically your moody triplet. You sir are screwed. He’s also an Alpha/Beta/enforcer. YEESH no wonder he’s moody.” I rolled my eyes, “Toby will be my Beta.” Toby was Nick and Emily Kruthers son. Dylan asked, “Do we need to get him in here to tell you why your moody triplets is moody. He’s getting dangerously close to a nickname addition. I think he’ll be moody mini Alpha Prick.” I rolled my eyes, “He’s sensitive not moody.” Dylan clapped, “YOU DO KNOW! OH MY GOD! THE HEAVENS HAVE OPENED! OH s**t! There’s two of them now BLACK MOUNTAIN BEWARE! You really are your father’s mini prick who just knows things.” I rolled my eyes. Wesley frowned, “What’s wrong with Alexander?” I sighed, “Nothing is wrong with him.” Dylan snorted, “Ask a better question little Wesley.” Wesley frowned, “Why is he moody?” Dylan held up his hand for a high five. Wesley slapped his hand. I sighed, “Ask Alexander.” Wesley sighed, “He doesn’t answer or says he needs space.” Dylan snorted. I rolled my eyes.             Phil walked inside. Dylan said, “Ahhhh the unlucky future beta of the moody mini Alpha Prick arrives. The chosen son of Miley and Jim. Run along. Your future Alpha is moody. I know that you know why that is…..see...I found myself a voicemail while not sniffing around Saint God Alpha’s office. That is definitely something I did not do in my boredom. Seems a certain someone from Red Run was attacked today ....” Phil groaned and went upstairs in search of Alexander. I narrowed my eyes, “How do you know?” Dylan snorted, “Don’t insult me. I eat popcorn and I know things little mini know it all prick.” I sighed. Dylan added, “Plus...anyone paying attention knows. It’s sad that everyone doesn’t know. In my humble opinion….I have sources who say it’s double sided. Part of that is just from my power of sight from the strange arrangement of pictures from the McAlister’s anniversary party. A certain toy wolf I have memo’s about….it got Dylan thinking.”              Wesley stood, “It’s sad people don’t know what?” I laughed. Dylan sighed, “Ahh little Wesley….start cultivating sources….so that you know things too.” Wesley rolled his eyes and walked off. Buttercup sighed, “Dad….” She ran off after Wesley. Once they were out of hearing range I said, “I’m sorry about your parents Dylan.” Dylan snorted, “Why? Travis and I aren’t. They stalked our daughters. I’ve been on pins and needles looking out for their fuckery. They were meeting with a witch again when they died. A different one than the one before. Danver was watching them. They didn't even know they were being followed. Four rogues attacked. The witch is in our hospital….doubtful she’ll make it. I hope she does. I want to know what they wanted, but I just know it was something about Buttercup. They got an easy death. They should’ve left my baby and my niece alone. They got what was coming to them and….I want to throw a parade. Lucas is being a fuddy duddy. I’ll get Julianna on my side then….then he will let me throw it.” I laughed. Lucas was wrapped around Julianna’s little finger. Dylan wasn’t wrong.             Julianna popped in. She smiled, “Daddy sent me to get you and Buttercup.” Dylan rolled his eyes, “Saint God Alpha Prick strikes again. He’s just no fun Julianna. He doesn’t like it when people try to spice up his life.” Julianna laughed, “Cousin Eric can be fun when all my cousins are around.” Dylan kissed her forehead, “He even has you fooled. Let’s pop to Buttercup so Wesley can say As you wish before we leave.” I rolled my eyes. Dylan had Wesley quoting the movie without knowing he was. Neither had seen it yet. I walked upstairs.              I knocked on Alexander’s door. I walked in and found Phil sitting on the couch. Alexander was laying on the bed throwing a ball. I said, “So….you kind of lost it.” Alexander said, “On a pack we were taking over. Who cares?” I snorted, “Umm me.” Alexander shrugged, “Why? I proved why when we take over I’m your enforcer.” I sighed, “You’ll have a pack you lead too. You’ll be an Alpha.” Alexander nodded, “I’m still your enforcer EJ. You’ll be the head. Just like dad. I proved my place at your side today.” I frowned, “I don’t need you to prove your place brother. I’ve always known where you will stand. Do you think I don’t know that?” Alexander frowned, “I know you do.” I sighed, “Are you going to tell me what that was really about?” Alexander locked his jaw. Phil sighed, “He won’t say anything EJ.”                  I frowned, “You know I love you brother. There is nothing you can say to me that will ever change that.” Alexander sighed, “Just….we were taking over. I didn’t do anything wrong.” I frowned, “I didn’t say you did.” Alexander said, “I still want space.” I sighed, “It’s been two years of space brother.” I turned. He said, “Didn’t you find their anniversary party strange?” I turned, “Whose?” Alexander sighed, “Drake and Sam’s two years ago. They had all those family photos…..yet their whole family wasn’t in them.” I frowned, “Yes….it was weird that Melanie wasn’t in the pictures.” Phil snorted, “Imaginary Melanie.” I said, “I’ve met her multiple times. She’s real.” Phil looked surprised but Alexander didn’t. Phil said, “You met Melanie?!” I nodded, “She taught me how to ballroom dance two years ago. I saw her again today when she fought those warriors. She’s good. Possibly Alexander good without his powers.” Phil snorted, “We should arrange a fight.” Alexander said, “I won’t fight her.” We both raised an eyebrow. Phil smirked, “Scared she’d beat you?” Alexander said, “No.” I sighed. Alexander said, “The toy wolf she has was in the pictures at the party. There was clearly a spot for her in those pictures. It’s like they are hiding her from other packs. Why would they do that?” I frowned, “I don’t….”             Alexander said, “You’ve even tried to meet her before you did. She’s just never around. They are hiding her from us.” I frowned, “I don’t think they are.” Alexander shrugged, “Maybe it’s just some of us then.” I frowned. He thought they didn’t want him to meet her? Phil said, “Hey...I haven’t met her either. EJ tracked her down because he has inside knowledge. You could do that too.” Alexander snorted, “No, I can’t. I promised I wouldn’t pop to her or their house. If I found out where she was….I’d be popping to her.” I sighed, “I don’t think it works that way. I went with the intent to meet her. I just didn’t pop to her.” Alexander looked away. I frowned, “Did you try that brother?” Alexander nodded, “It didn’t work. I was thrown back here. It’s like the promise I made wouldn’t let me break it.” I sighed, “We’ll get it figured out. You’ll meet her.” He had to. I think without meaning to when Alexander tried….he’d wanted to pop to her and that’s why he couldn’t. Alexander shrugged. Phil said, “And you want to meet her because?” I leaned forward waiting for him to confess. Alexander said, “I just do.” I groaned and left the room. I just wanted him to admit it. He had a crush. He had to think she was his mate.
