For a moment, I simply stood there. The hallway noise faded into something distant. Some students slowed just enough to see my reaction. I didn’t give them one. My hands shook only slightly as I pulled out my phone and took a photo. I made sure the picture was clear. This would be proof, of what yet, I had no idea. When I took the photo, I opened the locker, got my books, closed the door on the words, and walked out. I didn’t run. I didn’t cry. I walked straight through the front doors and out to the waiting car. I held it together through the car park. I held it together while I got into the back of the brothers' car and the driver said good afternoon. I muttered good afternoon back. The driver opened the back door respectfully.
