CASSIE’S POV
Heat rushed up my neck. "I didn't mean to say it like that."
"But you meant it."
I pressed my lips together. "I meant it."
He crossed the room slowly. He stopped in front of the couch and looked down at me.
I looked up at him, and neither of us said anything for a moment.
"How did it feel?" he said. "Watching us."
My voice felt stuck in my throat. “Good.”
His brow lifted slightly. “Just good?”
I swallowed. “It was… more than that.”
He stepped closer.
“Say it,” he said quietly.
My heart started racing. “It was… amazing.”
Something in his expression shifted. His eyes got even darker and deeper.
He reached down and took my hand and pulled me gently to my feet.
