CASSIE’S POV
As soon as I said those words, his entire face changed instantly. His eyes went wide with surprise.
In that moment, I guess he realized what I meant by that.
“Cassie,” he said softly. “No.”
I looked down quickly. I felt embarrassed by how emotional I sounded.
“I just woke up and nobody was here,” I said. “I thought maybe…” My voice cracked painfully. “I thought maybe you all regretted it.”
Castien looked horrified. His eyes got even wider.
“Regretted it?” he repeated. “Baby, no.”
Before he could continue, loud crashing noises suddenly echoed from outside the room.
I was confused. What the hell was going on?
