KENNY’S POV
Cassie looked genuinely happy. She wasn’t nervous or scared. She looked…free.
My wolf immediately became alert.
"Look at her," he muttered.
I was already looking. I couldn’t stop.
Beside me, Celeste suddenly appeared. She wrapped her arm through mine.
"Kenny?" she said.
I barely heard her. I barely even acknowledged the fact that she was beside me. Because Cassie was still smiling.
Then something even more annoying happened. Darren leaned down and said something to her.
Cassie laughed. It was a real laugh. The sound carried across the courtyard.
My stomach twisted at the sound.
