CASSIE’S POV I woke up to sunlight. That was the first strange thing. At home, my bedroom window faced the neighbour's wall and mornings were grey. Here, the room was bright. Good morning, Amara said, from somewhere warm inside my chest. Good morning, I said back. I sat up slowly rubbing my eyes. My body still felt strange after everything that had happened in the past few days. So much had changed that my mind could barely keep up.
