CASSIE’S POV
Bastian looked in shock at his clothes which were now dripping wet with water.
The maid gasped in horror. She looked so terrified.
She dropped to her knees so fast it startled me. Tears filled her eyes as she clasped her hands together. Her whole body shook.
“Please forgive me, your highness” she cried “Please, I didn’t mean to. Please don’t punish me. No, punish me. I deserve it. please, don’t send me away. I need this job”
I froze.
She was genuinely terrified. I could see it from where I stood. I noticed in the way her shoulders tensed up. She wasn’t even breathing properly. Her body was literally shaking.
