CASSIE’S POV
I looked at Bastian in complete shock. My lips were slightly parted open.
"Do not ever do that again." Bastian said.
My back found the wall behind me. I hadn’t realized I had been retreating until the wall stopped me. Bastian didn’t stop moving until there was almost nothing between us.
The heat coming off his body was overwhelming. His eyes were still gold, fully gold now. I could tell that his Lycan was refusing to step back.
My heart rate spiked fast. I could feel the heat radiating off him. The feeling send strong shivers down my spine.
"You shouldn’t be wasting your time defending me," I whispered. "There are things that actually matter -"
