7.booby trap

ZANE pov. I am camouflaged in the woods as I have been for the past week. We had been studying his activities. He just takes whatever he is taking and disappears afterwards. Tonight, I am going to go inside after he leaves. The little guy in a brown cloak came like every time. It took about twenty minutes for him to come out and disappear. I waited for a while before I made my move. I instructed the warriors with me to stay on guard. I would mind link them if they need to bust in. I was going to enter alone as I didn’t want to cause much chaos. I moved casually towards the tree. As I moved closer I started to feel anxious. What is the tree is bewitched? My breathing hitched. But still, I wouldn’t back off. If anything happens, it would be an honour because I was working for the safety of my pack. I held my breath as I pushed where the door seemed to be. Nothing. It was just a tree. No, it cannot be. We have witnessed so many times that wizard entering this trunk. I started to search for anything. Any secret buttons, or something. Anything. It was of no use. My anxiety turned into frustration. “Darn it” I kicked the big root bulging out at the base of the tree with my foot, irritated. Just then the trunk gave away and I fell inside where darkness enveloped. Just great. I fell into a booby trap. I thought. I got up and brushed myself. I looked around. I was in a room that was dimly lit. There was no furniture except for a single desk placed in the centre. Now that I am here why not check it out? There was a drawer on the desk which I opened, not expecting to find anything. But still, I found papers. Looked like important papers. I tried to read it but it was in another language. Then I saw the stamp of the wizard realm. Maybe Wilma can know something from this. I carefully folded the papers and hid them in my clothes. Now, I had to get out of here. I searched for an escape route. There was a tunnel. I debated with myself if I should take that path. Who knows what awaits me there? But my wolf started to get restless. As if he knew something interesting awaits us here. Besides, I couldn’t find any other way out so I walked slowly down the tunnel, keeping my eyes and ears on full alert. I only walked to a slight distance when I started to smell apples. Apples? Here? This place is so confusing. Maybe this place is bewitched and it is getting to my head. I tried to shake away the confusion. Then I heard the low grunts of a human and the clinking of a chain. “Damn Visior!” A female voice said. My eyes widened. Should I follow that voice? My conscience said that I must. As silently as I could, I approached that voice. It led to another dimly lit room. I secretly peeped inside, and there, chained to the wall was the most beautiful girl I ever laid my eyes on. She was desperately trying to remove the chains with no success. There was some food untouched right beside her. I watched as she gave up trying to free herself and lean against the wall. She looked hopeless. “ I’m sorry ma, and dada.” She was talking to herself. “ I couldn’t protect Luke.” Tears streamed down her beautiful face. The realisation hit me as my heart screeched to a stop. She must be Luke’s sister! I must get her out of here. But how? AISHA pov. Hopeless. That is what I felt. I don’t know how the days went by anymore. Every day, Visior sends food for me. So he doesn’t want me to die yet. Then they renew the spell of suppression on me so that I cannot use my powers. Ever since he murdered my parents right in front of me, I had only waited for the day my powers will flourish. So that I can take revenge for ruining our childhood and taking away our parents from us. But he kidnapped me right before I could do anything. All I can think of is Luke. He is just a child. “oh Lord, please protect him” I prayed silently. “Psst,” I thought I heard someone. My head snatched towards the entrance. Maybe my ears were playing tricks on me. “psst. Hey.” There it was again. “ Who is there?” I asked alarmed. Just then a handsome man emerged. From his well-built body, I knew he was not a normal person. Either he was a human who did intense workouts or he was some kind of a shifter. There was no way anyone could look that good. “I want to help you,” he said and started to remove the chains. “Wait...” I semi shouted. I looked up into his eyes. I almost got lost in his sapphire blue eyes. I shook my head. Now is not the time to get lost in a handsome stranger's eyes. “ What if you get caught? And the one who held me captive would go bonkers when I’m gone all of a sudden.” I know he is a stranger, but if he is the ticket for me to get out of here, I didn’t care at all. But I didn’t want him to get caught in the process. “ You are right. Let’s wait for him to come back. He comes every night and morning.” “ How did you know?” “We have been spying on him for a while.” Ooookkkk. So this guy here is my knight in shining armour who came to save me. Aww so sweet. I saw his eyes clouded for a while and then his sapphire blue eyes returned. I knitted my eyebrows and looked at him. What just happened? He seemed to understand my confusion. “ I just mind linked my team of warriors who are stationed outside.” Mind link? Warriors? “are you.....” “Werewolf? Yeah. We had to spy on this hideout because this is in our pack grounds. Oh wow. I’m so glad that Visior made the mistake of hiding me in the territory of these territorial beings. “Won’t you eat?” he asked looking at the untouched food. I looked at the food blankly. I didn’t have the appetite. “How can I eat? I don’t know if my brother has eaten anything. He is the only family I have.” I managed to whisper. Tears streamed down uncontrollably as I remembered Luke. The stranger shook his head. And sat beside me. “ I’m sure your brother is in good hands. Now come on. Eat” he took the price of bread and broke it. He held it close to my mouth. He was trying to feed me. I looked at him surprised. I opened my mouth and accepted the morsel of bread he held. ZANE pov. What was I doing? It was as if my body had a mind of its own and started to feed her. When she looked at me in confusion I wondered if I had done the right thing. I was beyond happy when she finally ate from my hand. Mate. Mate. My inner wolf was chanting in my head. She is not werewolf. But still she must feel the mate pull. I made sure she ate the whole bread. Heaven knows for how long she had been refusing food. She would need her energy. I wanted to break the chains bound on her hands. And kiss away the pain from it. I looked into her brown eyes. Those were the most enchanting pair of eyes I had ever seen. I caressed her cheek lovingly. Sparks erupted where our skin touched. Her eyes were locked in mine. It didn’t matter where we were anymore. Or what situation we were in. What mattered was that I found her. “He might come back. I want to take you out of here.” I told her. So that I can be with you. I wanted to add. But no. She must be thinking I am a crazy i***t to act all lovey-dovey on the first day we met. I have no idea about how witches and wizards felt about soulmates. But for us, they are part of us. Without them, we are incomplete. I carefully hid near the entrance and waited for the wizard to come. I was not leaving without my fated mate. I don't want to leave her here in this dungeon even for a second more.
