Chapter thirty nine

Slyverken's POV

The hunting expedition with the girls was more fun than I expected, initially I was worried about ruining my clothes but Ruby came up with idea,to remove our clothes and keep them safe and continue the hunt in wolf form and so here. The hunt was nice, with ruby and Cercie's knowledge of the area we tracked down four bulls within the vicinity and make quick sport of them,then we followed three others others and I took them easily, now that is seven bulls dead that should be enough to make the whole pack happy. " Guys I think our kill is more than enough for the purposes they need , shall we ?" I mindlinked the guards on where to locate the bulls bodies, I was reasonably surprised when ten wolves came out of the trees sniffed  the bodies and started pulling the meat back to the red moon Pack grounds and simultaneously many more warrior wolves showed up and helped drag the big bad heavy corpses back to the pack grounds. This was a lot more fun than I thought, from now onwards, I will be following Brian when he goes hunting. We arrived at the pack grounds and shifted back to our human forms,wore our clothes and led the line back to our mates. The Luna ceremony was a success and as the minutes went by I could feel the link between myself and the pack deepen.

The next day was full of activities, congratulations from three hundred new members of the Alpha Pack, packing luggages, arranging transfer for the over four thousand wolves following us back to New York, saying my goodbyes, it was hectic but thankfully Brian and his officers had thought ahead and the passenger planes were already in. Transporting the pack members in groups was also a headache until both Lewis and Michelle came up with a plan, now everything is moving smoothly and of course,we would be the last leave, so the private three hundred seater jet was being used to transport the alphas to New York, Alpha Rand, Alpha Goldberg, Alpha McNally, Alpha Twain and Alpha Finn, stayed back as they were already home, their next participation in meetings would be via Skype or Zoom unless Alpha King Brian requests their physical presence they stay here to take care of their packs, Alpha Ruby, my sister in-law also is staying back she is the new resident Alpha of the Red moon pack in the absence of Alpha King Brian. She calls her pack the midnight terror, my goodbye to my pack or at least what is left of it was emotional, about the membership of the Moonlight Pack had decided to come with me back to New York while the other half stays here in Atlanta under dad, Alpha Riddick's care and Gamma James was promoted to Beta status. When the two hours seven minutes flight ended ,we moved through customs of the JFK airport quickly and were met by a young man named Leo outside the airport.

" Good evening, Alpha King Brian, Queen Slyverken, Beta Lewis, Gamma Daemon, Delta Greg and Commander Jerkins and your respective partners, welcome back to New York, I am Leo, the new head of internal security, now if you would follow me, the vehicles are waiting." We followed him to the car park where a black limo and two black SUVs awaited, surrounded by twenty warrior wolves, our security detail, he opened the doors of the limo and we entered,he then barked a series of commands and the convoy took off, it took approximately twenty minutes to get to the Vernom Claw Pack grounds and I was blown away by the magnitude of the buildings, just like Catherine said I would be, we entered the pack house first floor and it was jam packed with the warriors and wolves who had left earlier, they stood up and bowed in respect at the site of us. " Beta Lewis, I want the accommodation of everyone present sorted out quickly" "Yes, Alpha" we got to the elevator pressed the button to open got in and Beta Lewis announced" Alpha the elevator is voice controlled,so if you want to go anywhere you state your name,rank and where you want to go, for example, Beta Lewis, Beta officers quarters" and immediately the elevator came alive,a few seconds later we arrived at the destination and the doors opened and the officers and their mates walked out towards their rooms. " Well, here goes nothing. Alpha King Brian, Alpha quarters "and we were on our way. We arrived a few seconds later walked out of the elevator and entered our room, my jaw dropped at the sheer beauty and luxury of the room, Catherine was right this makes even the most luxurious hotel room look pale in comparison. This is the life, I fell unto the Queen sized bed and lost consciousness immediately, I had no idea when Brian joined me.

Next day

Brian's POV

Well, it's good to be home but we have three days leave of absence left before we report back to school for lectures, in all the excitement I forgot I was still a student. Slyverken stirred in my arms,she looks even lovelier when asleep, she slowly regained consciousness and smiled at me " morning love, how was your night?" " Lovely, yours?" " Excellent, I haven't slept that well in a long time." "Well the good days are here now so why don't we get ready and go downstairs, the others might be wondering what we've been up to." "Sure" we quickly got out the bed, showered and picked new clothes,then we made our way to elevator went downstairs and met a scene that surprised us. Here the mess hall was spotless, wolves lined the dining room golfing down pancakes with abandon, the pack is truly at home. Most of the Alphas returned home to their respective packs this morning, I received the updates through the pack link, at the site of us, everyone chorused " morning Alpha, morning Luna" "what are you having for breakfast?", "Pancakes made by Beta female Michelle, so delicious" I rolled my eyes at the dreamy look in the warriors eyes, oh this is going to take some getting used to. We walked into the kitchen and the aroma of pancakes had me licking my lips in expectation and there the four couples were maneuvering pots, kneading dough, making delicious pancakes. Slyverken beside me stared at the scene in front of us in shock, she couldn't believe the four most powerful officers would be helping their mates in the kitchen preparing breakfast for the whole pack " morning guys, anything we can do to help?" ,"Yes, get a seat and watch the show unfold' " sure if you say so Lewis. Oh and before I forget, today everyone is supposed to take their mates out on a date,we have not been able to do so for awhile now. Catherine dumped a pile of pancakes in my presence, Slyverken and I dug in, when done I said" well let's go, we have a date." She looked at me in surprise but nodded, and so we left.

Slyverken and i went to one of the famous restaurant's in town to have our date.When we got there,the waitress started flirting with me even before we've been seated.I ignored her and was busy ordering. After I completed the orders,the waitress winked at me and gave Slyverken a head to toe look which made her smile in amusement.

"Whats funny this time?" I questioned and she said "Nothing,i just find it very funny".I raised my eyebrow at her clearly not satisfied with her answer.She then said "I just find it hilarious that the waitress was hitting on you and you acted as if that was nothing.She even winked at you,if that is not funny enough, then I don't  know what is."

Finally the food arrived and we talked whilst eating, we played catch up  on each others lives and getting to know what has been going on each others lives. It was fun though because Slyverken was an easy person to talk to and the fact that we had alot in common made every conversation lively. Once done, I paid for our meals and escorted her back to the car making sure to open the door for her showing her I could be a true gentleman too when needed.

We finally arrived at the pack house and I leaned in closer and said "Thanks Slyverken I had a really nice time today.Let's do this again soon."

She then replied "Thanks Brian. I really had fun too " and on impulse I dipped my head closer and kissed her.At first she was surprised by the kiss but after recovering,she placed her arms around my neck and returned the kiss.We kissed passionately for awhile and pulled back to catch our breath. "That was great" i said and Slyverken smiled nodding her head.We smiled at each other and entered into the pack house.

Chapter forty

Daemon's POV

I took Catherine out on a date and to have time alone for ourselves, our lives have been hectic of late. I surprised her by sending her to a lake side Cabin in the outskirts of New York. She was surprised and genuinely speechless and was looking at me with a nervous smile, she hugged me unexpectedly and I almost tumbled for a second holding her tightly in my embrace.

I held her hand and we made our way to the cabin.When we entered the cabin, i chuckled and said "Welcome home mademoiselle" trying to say it in a French accent. She laughed at my accent and entered the cabin.There were lights everywhere and a laptop on the corner of a table couch with some sandwiches.There were two glasses of wine on the table too.She turned around with a huge grin on her face sitting down on the couch and patting on her right side for me to sit. I gave her a sandwich and she took a bite "Do you like it? I made it myself ,I wanted to make this date special"."It's good and tasty" she responded with her mouth full and I chuckled, oh how I love hearing her laugh. After eating,we decided to watch the movie 'After'. I pulled her to sit on my lap and placed my arms around her,I never wanted the movie to end. I kissed her on the cheeks as  the best revealing scenes came on because she was crying for Hardin and Tessa. We watched the movie till midnight and fell asleep when we felt sleepy.She placed her head on my chest as we fell asleep and I snuggled her closer in my embrace as we savoured the moment together.

Lewis POV

Today, Michelle and I decided to go shopping for our date, Michelle's idea by the way and she won't stop talking about how excited she is, I just rolled my eyes.We decided to shop for some clothes and food stuffs. After awhile,we arrived at the shop."Well we're here" I said, she looked up in slight awe at the building sign and couldn't stop smiling, I then led her inside. We went to the female clothing session first where we started to glide toward a rack.The rack displayed pastel pink and blue dresses with pleated skirts and lace collars."Do you want to try one on ?" i asked ,she nodded selected her choice and went to try them on .When she came back from the changing room, she must have spotted something she really liked, because she ran to the next rack and selected another clothing.From the female session,we went to the male session where I also made selection of clothes for the boys and myself.

By the time we were done,my arms were full of clothes though Michelle managed to still hold my hand.From the clothing session,we went to the foodstuffs session were we bought some foodstuffs for the pack house.When we stopped at the check-out counter ,the woman smiled politely at us and i gave my Visa card to her to pay, which she gave back to me after entering into the machine. After shopping,we were starving so we decided to have a quick lunch at one of the restaurant's nearby.We talked a little bit and she thanked me with a smile on her face.After lunch we went back to the packhouse because we were exhausted.

Epilogue

Brian's POV

It's been two years since my coronation as Alpha King, the Alpha Pack has grown to up to a thousand members meanwhile the packs enjoyed peace and prosperity under my rein and today to mark the second anniversary an Alphas meeting was ongoing, when Beta Lewis walked into the conference room, headed my way and said"Alpha, sorry for the interruption but Luna Slyverken is in labour and asking for you" " wait but she isn't due for a couple of weeks more?" " Yes,we all thought so but she just entered labor and it is mandatory for you to present" " Alphas pardon the interruption but we would have to continue this meeting later" " Alpha King Brian, the heir and future King of our race, requests your presence go, I Alpha Denise would round things up here in your absence " " Thanks, Alphas" I excused myself and left with Lewis hard on my heels, we entered the elevator and reached the ground floor, walked out of the pack house, turned right straight for the pack hospital, the nurses on duty bowed as I passed them by, I stopped and asked " where is the Luna?" "Alpha she is in the second cubicle on your right on the first floor, maternity section" one of them replied. " Thanks" Lewis and I raced to the elevator where we were joined by Greg, Daemon and Jerkins, we jumped out at the right floor and made a beeline for the second cubicle,we arrived just in time, to see the midwife hand over my bundle of joy to Slyverken,who was surrounded by Michelle, Catherine, Gracie, Bernie and even Ruby who came all the way from New Orleans just for this moment, they all looked up as we entered, the midwife said" congratulations Alpha King Brian, the Moon goddess has blessed you with a healthy son" everyone started congratulating me. Well ends well all that starts well.
