Chapter twenty one

Harris's Point Of View

"I want a status report on our troupe movement" 'Alpha everything is in order but there is only one problem' " and that is?" ' we can not get in touch with Brandon, all attempts to reach him have proved futile' " and what is that supposed to mean? Brandon knows the rules of engagement, I doubt if he would break them or disobey direct orders regarding this war. All the same send someone to their (Brandon's) camp and find out what is going on" ' yes, Alpha, it shall be done.' " how about our scouts, what do they have to report?" 'Alpha, it looks like the pack perimeter has been fortified but there is no activity from inside, every place is quite. It would seem, they are overconfident in their security arrangements and do not think it can be broken' " I never would have thought, Alpha Brian would be as dense as his father (Alpha Jon) but it seems he did not learn anything from my previous attack. Call in Alphas Red and Gin" ' yes Alpha' the guard exited to carry out my orders, something about Brian's lack of heightened security does not sound right but he used to the Omega of Atlanta, so he definitely must have a strategy that suit is him just fine, though I thought if any strategy can prepare him for the kind of attack I intend to launch on him. Alphas Red and Gin entered our makeshift tent and took their seats. " Alphas, there is doing to be a slight change in our original plans" they sat up straight in their seats and leveled me with their full and undivided attention ' Alpha Harris, what do you mean by a change, please speak clearly and not beat about the bush. We are already ready to attack at first light, which is a mere hour away, what exactly is it that you want to change now?' "Alpha Red, do not misunderstand me, I do not intend to change the plan at the last minute but I do intend to change our approach. As I am sure you are aware, Brandon is not responding to any summons, we have no idea what happened to him and his men,so the initial plan of waiting for them to attack first sending our targets into a frenzy would not be in use. The pack perimeter has been fortified and strengthened, though the pack seems to asleep at this time, the element of surprise would be our greatest advantage in this war, Alpha red and Alpha Gin you both will attack with two thousand men, thirty minutes into the battle, I and the remaining one thousand warriors would also join the fray. Take note, you and your men are going to have to find a way to disconnect and destroy the enforcements around the pack perimeter for easy access. Any questions?" ' none, Alpha Harris' "good you may leave now" they stood up and left the same way they had entered leaving me a lone with my thoughts.

Outside Alpha Harris's tent

"Alpha red, what do you think of Alpha Harris's change in plans?" ' Alpha Gin, I have no idea but I have this feeling that something is not right somewhere' " in that case, I guess it is time we made our own alterations to the original plan" ' what do you have in mind Alpha Gin?' "well, I am of the view we maintain the original plan but instead of attacking concurrently, I propose we attack together but from different directions. The scouts report the south side and west side are the sides of the pack border that is least guarded. We can make our stands from there, whiles Alpha Harris would strike from the northern side of the pack border" 'innovative Alpha Gin, this should be way easier than we expected, considering Alpha Brian does not have that huge a force to contend with us, like his father (Alpha Jon) did' " yeah, you are right. He is just a boy after all and all this talk of him being the same person as Omega Brian is ridiculous to say the least' " true though the omega's job is to prevent attacks on any of the packs and he succeeded for years doing so. The only reason we were successful in pulling off such an attack was because of the high level of secrecy attached to it, only we (that is me, you and Alpha Harris) knew about it, the pack was informed only a few hours before the attack. Omega Brian must have felt useless and lost face in front of the Alphas he was supposed to protect and run away with his tail between his legs" ' haha, please do not start with that jump-start Omega Brian, he ruined a number of my plans, you can not imagine my joy when he disappeared, it was a dream come true for me' " you are not the only one who celebrated his disappearance, we all did and I am going to celebrate the death of young Alpha Brian just like I celebrated his father's (Alpha Jon's) death. May he rest in peace, his (Alpha Brian's)marks the end of the Armstrong line. How relieved I will feel when I know the Armstrong line is no more, you have no idea" ' I feel pity for Alpha Brian,he just assumed command and authority as an Alpha and he is going to lose it, he did not even have enough time to enjoy being an Alpha' " he did for three weeks, he should never have returned back here. That is his biggest mistake, let us go and brief our men on the new strategy" ' definitely' they parted ways and each headed in the direction of his pack tent

Meanwhile in the Red moon Pack, an emergency meeting was ongoing

Brian's Point Of View

Immediately, the warriors at the border saw us coming, they snapped to attention and bowed in respect as we passed them, I nodded in their direction, it is three am, a couple of hours more to first light and if my hunch is right, a couple of hours more before we are attacked. It is time to get things moving quickly, I mind linked Lewis "Beta Lewis, I want to meet all the Alphas in ten minutes to discuss battle disposition. Also, I want the whole pack assembled after the meeting, I will be addressing the pack before we fight" ' the whole pack Alpha? ' " yes, everyone including the border guards" ' yes, Alpha it will be done just as you said it'  I closed the link and headed straight to my room,where I had a quick snack consisting of cornflakes and strawberry flavoured milk, while I awaited for Lewis to update me on the state of affairs.

Lewis's Point Of View

We just arrived back at the Red moon Pack grounds and Alpha King Brian headed straight for his room but not without issuing straight forward but unusual instructions, he wants to meet the Alphas to inform them of their battle dispositions, that is normal and he also wants to address the whole pack, this is strange because he has never done anything of that sort before. It looks like Alpha King Brian is growing accustomed to the regalia of kingship. Anyway, this would be the first time ever, he is going to address his men, prepping them for battle, I wish Luna was here to witness this historic moment with us all. I quickly set about informing everyone of the Alphas meeting in five minutes and sent a mind link to both Daemon and Greg informing them of the meeting and also for them to get the men ready to be addressed by Alpha King Brian, they were a little startled by this information but got to work immediately. In three minutes, they mind linked me telling me the pack is assembled outside the pack house awaiting Alpha King Brian's address, they themselves were heading to the meeting and expected me to be there on time, I laughed at how they could afford to banter with me when we could all die in a matter of minutes but anyway what is life if you can not enjoy the moments you have, I excused myself from Alphas Ripley, Ironside, McNally and Denise and headed towards my quarters where I intend to freshen up and then grab a bite from the pack house before heading to the meeting.

Chapter twenty three

Michelle's Point Of View

As soon as, Alpha King Brian and his men left, including my mate Lewis, I felt empty and I knew I was not the only one, Alpha, Luna, Queen Slyverken now I don't even know how to address her but I guess she will always be my Alpha,so Alpha then, she (Alpha Slyverken), Bernie and myself have been pacing around the Moonlight Pack conference room, watching the clock every five minutes, it has been barely fifteen minutes since they left but it felt like hours, the suspense is killing me and all kinds of scenarios where playing in my head. All of a sudden Bernie stopped and looked excited, "Bernie do you mind telling us what has you so excited in this situation?" ' my apologies Beta Michelle but I just felt a strong bloodlust and excitement through the mate bond, that can only mean the battle is about to start and to crown it,my wolf is actually excited at the prospect of bloodshed and that is highly unexpected,my mate bond seems to be changing my personality too' " yeah, sometimes if your mate is strong willed, some his trait is affect you becoming a part of you. Take for example, my mate Lewis,he is extremely calm even under intense pressure and over the past few days, his cool calm nature is affecting me making me alot more relaxed than I normally would be" " girls, I do not know about you, but one thing I know for certain is, I do not intend to wait here for news on how the battle went. Look at Catherine and Gracie, they are not here with us, because they are there at the Red moon Pack house with their respective mates. Catherine and Gracie are not warriors but we are, why should we have to wait here for news while they get to watch the action take place. I am not a damsel in distress waiting for her prince charming, I am a warrior,an Alpha, a member of the Alpha Pack and the mate and Queen of Alpha King Brian, I will not sit here quietly and wait for news, I intend to go and see for myself how bad or good things are going" ' but, my queen we need an excuse other than being warriors and their respective mates" Bernie started jumping up and down " Bernie what is it this time?" ' My queen, Beta I think I have found a solution to our present problem' " and that is?" I was getting impatient ' simple, the Red moon Pack hospital does not have a functional hospital, the hospital staff were killed along with everyone else' "and your point is what exactly? Get straight to the point,no beating around the bush" ' if you will allow me my queen, I am getting there. A war will be fought in a matter of minutes from now, in every war there will be casualties no matter how good the warriors are, some will definitely sustain injuries and would need a doctor to look after the wounds, so my solution is that we go there (Red moon Pack house) under the pretext of bringing in the medical team. What do you think? ' "very clever, Bernie. That way we counter any arguments about us disobeying them. Michelle, get the pack doctor in here now'"no problem" immediately I sent a mind link to the pack doctor "doc?"  ' Beta Michelle' " sorry for the late hour but can you come into the conference room right now,Alpha and I would like to have a word with you" ' definitely, Beta Michelle, I will be there shortly'  I closed the link and breathed a sign of relief " and?" " He is in the way, my queen" Slyverken raised eyebrows at being addressed as queen by me, I only shrugged it off and resumed my pacing impatiently waiting for the pack doctor to arrive. A few minutes later, there was a knock on the door

Slyverken's Point Of View

As soon as,I heard Bernie's suggestion,I started doing a victory dance in my head, I just found the perfect excuse for my presence at the Red moon Pack house. The doctor arrived after five minutes but it felt like five hours instead. He knocked on the door patiently and quietly so as to not draw attention to his presence here. " Come in" he entered and bowed his head in respect. ' Alpha, Beta, you requested to see me? I hope it  is nothing serious ' " do not worry yourself,we wanted to have a medical conversation with you and everything said here  is strictly to be kept in confidence, under no circumstance is anyone allowed to know about this conversation,is that clear, ' yes, of course Alpha' " okay as you aware, is going to be a war at the Red moon Pack and definitely there would be injuries that would need a doctor, I want you to pick a few nurses and things you think you will need even though the Red moon Pack hospital has everything except the men to man it. Pick a few doctors and nurses and meet us in five minutes outside this room, you and the staff you pick would be in charge of giving first-aid to the wounded. Any questions?" ' none, Alpha Slyverken,it shall be done just as you said' " good, you may leave and take care of all the necessary arrangements,so that the pack is not left without a health team." He nodded and turned towards the door and left as quietly as he came in earlier. I turned towards my friends and fellow conspirators " looks like the plan is underway" ' hurray' they chanted, sometimes it feels right just to behave like the teenage girls we are and not the leaders of one of the powerful packs in Atlanta now to crown it all our mates are officers in the most powerful pack in the whole world, that is quite the change in our daily routines. We hugged and bantered around playfully just to kill the time. I was unconsciously checking the clock every second, when I heard another knock on the door indicating the doctor and his team were ready and set for our little adventure. " Girls, it is time to move out" we shifted into our wolves and walked out the door, outside the pack doctor and ten others stood waiting patiently for us, I addressed them through the pack link," we would move quicker in wolf form,so shift and let us hit the road" they nodded and stripped off their clothings and shifted into their wolves, we left the Moonlight Pack grounds, the same way Alpha King Brian and his men left through the southern border, I mind linked the guards informing them of our approach and they let us through without causing any fuzz, I set the pace to a brisk walk and within a few minutes,we arrived at the Red moon Pack house and the site that awaited us left us spellbound and speechless. Alpha King Brian,Beta Lewis,Gamma James,Delta Greg and Commander Jerkins were fighting us one tearing their way through rogues, leaving a pile of bodies behind in their wake. A wolf attacked Brian and before I could warn him through the our link , Jerkins and Greg tore the rogue up like butter. This guys mean it when they said,they fight together as one covering and protecting each other, now that is the way a pack should fight.

Chapter twenty four

Brian's Point Of View

" Alpha everything is set" I smiled when Lewis my Beta and best friend informed me of the arrangements. I stood from my snack and headed for the conference room to address my men. Lewis was waiting outside my door, we walked side by side for the five of walk from my room to the conference room. As soon as we walked through the double doors, the Alpha pack snapped to attention and bowed their heads in respect as I nodded to them and took my seat located at the top of the long table. As soon as I took my seat, the atmosphere in the room changed, the joyful banter ended and everyone became serious. " Alphas as you are all aware, the enemy is just outside our gates,as we speak they are trying to cut through the wire mesh that surrounds the whole pack, from their disposition we can confidently expect them to enter through the southern border and the western border. Alphas Ironside, Ripley, Twain and Ruby would hold the western border with a section of warriors, you will pretend to be overwhelmed by the attack and retreat strategically leading them to us, that is the rest of us,who would have dealt with the southern incursion by then. If what we know about our enemies is anything to go by, I do not expect to see Alpha Harris so soon in  the beginning of the battle,he would wait awhile before joining the battle with his army. This approach should make it a lot easier to handle them. Any questions?" No one made a move to ask a question as everyone was mulling over the information I just gave out. I waited for ten minutes and asked again " any questions?" ' none, Alpha King Brian' they chorused. " In that case this meeting is over and let us all leave, the pack is waiting patiently for us" I stood up as they all did and led the way back outside with Lewis,my Beta, Daemon,my Gamma Greg,my Delta and Jerkins my commander flanking me, the Alpha pack followed in that order. As I approached the over two thousand warrior wolves drawn from over one hundred packs,they started chanting my name ' Alpha King Brian' 'Alpha King Brian' I mounted the stage and bid them to quiet down and started my address " warriors of the Alpha pack,you are the best warriors of all the packs under my command, I am proud to have you all here. Today,we face our biggest test yet, today we fight for our lands, our freedom, our packs, our future. Today we fight as one family with only one aim, preservation of our race. Our enemies outside believe in wiping out entire families and packs who so not believe in their ideology of supremacy. Today we fight to correct that erroneous ideology. Today,we fight for a new order where our race can nurture in peace, today we fight for our children's future. Today you fight not as members of rival packs but as members of one pack,we fight as one,as brothers and sisters,as one big family. Today, I fight for vengeance, I fight to avenge the men, women and children who laid down their lives but did not bow. Today,we fight in honor of their memories,in honor of their sacrifice. Today,we fight for victory!!!" 'for victory,for victory,for victory'  " fight for your Alphas, fight for your king, fight for your kingdom" ' for Alpha King Brian, victory. For Alpha King Brian , victory' " for victory" ' for victory,for victory, for victory' they chanted this as I dismounted the stage with my pack officers and the Alpha Pack behind me, the warriors parted way leaving a large lane in the middle of the congregation, that rapidly filled up after we passed through it. I could feel the bloodlust, oozing out of everyone present including me,as we assembled and waited for the enemy to show up.

" Alpha Ironside, Alpha Twain, Alpha Ripley, Alpha Ruby, you command the southern border, move" they detached with fifty Alphas and half the warriors strength and moved towards the southern border where we could hear howling,which is a precursor to battle cry. In front of me, the walls surrounding the northern border crumpled down and in came a thousand wolves under the command of Alpha Gin.

"Men,this is the moment we have all been waiting for, s**t now" in unison the Alphas present and the over thousand warrior wolves shifted into their wolves, all around the sound of clothes ripping apart was heard. Through the pack link, I issued my orders" hold the line" Beta Lewis, Gamma Daemon, Delta Greg and Commander Jerkins surrounded me as per protocol, the enemies advanced slowly after realizing that their element of surprise was lost, and that we were prepared and more than ready for them, I waited patiently until each and everyone of them crossed the border into my pack grounds before issuing my instructions to attack. I howled menacingly and my pack launched in to the attack. I launched straight for Alpha Gin who happens to be leading the enemy lines and successfully wounded three of my men within the space of a couple of minutes. I tore the throat out of the rogue that crossed my path, whiles Lewis tore down one coming from my right, jerkins jumped on the one coming from my rear end, daemon and Greg were wrestling two coming from both my left and right. Having this four with you always in battle, means the enemy has an even more difficult job of reaching me. Alpha Gin attacked me the instant she saw me, I swerved to the left avoiding her blow completely, she charged again this time for my left side, I swerved again, this time to my right. I howled and launched my own attack, I jumped at her before she could get her bearings knocking her into the ground, she recovered quickly and shook herself free. I waited until she regained her feet before launching at her again, this time successfully sinking my teeth into her side, she howled and tried to bite me and shake me off but I held my grounds, forcing her to kneel. I threw her and waited for her to get her bearings before attacks again, this time she was ready and countered my attack with one of her own. We launched at each other and met in mid air, with her landing her claws in my right shoulder and me landing mine just above her abdomen leaving an indelible line across her underbelly,she howled in pain and tried skipping away from me, I launched for the kill, sinking my teeth in her throat while she whimpered for mercy and tore the larynx out of her throat, leaving a gaping hole behind,she slumped to the floor with a loud thud, quickly I rejoined the battle tearing through rogues to my left and right. My wolf suddenly stopped and sniffed the air ' hey, big boy what is going on.' ' mate is here' I stopped dead in my tracks ' what?' ' how did you know ? ' ' one of the things, the mate bond does is amplify the connection between you both, now I can track her and know her, whereabouts  without even trying' ' okay, I get it, how far away is she?' ' she just entered the pack grounds and is watching the battle' ' okay, I see, looks like I am going to have a talk with her after this battle' ' no you will do no such thing, mate is an Alpha and it is her right to fight beside you and not locked up in some room' ' hey, I did not lock her up, I only asked her to stay behind and take care of her pack, they need their Alpha' ' yes, but not more than you need her to be here' ' fine, I get it, now can we get back to the fight going on around us, we are being left out' ' okay' with that he quieted down and allowed me to take over again,the first thing I did was send a mind link to my mate, Slyverken " girls, I hope you did not come all the way here just to watch the action unfold,so instead of standing there watching like lost souls, join us"  I turned and gave my full attention to the ongoing battle.
