Richard's POV Richard received the call at midnight. Elizabeth had collapsed. The doctors were with her now. She was asking for him. He drove to her house faster than was safe. When he arrived, the housekeeper met him at the door. Her eyes were red. "She is upstairs," the woman said. "The doctor says her heart is weak. She does not have much time." Richard took the stairs two at a time. He burst into her bedroom. Elizabeth was lying in bed, propped up by pillows. A doctor stood beside her, checking her pulse. She looked so small. So fragile.
