"Now you will have to live in fear," he claimed. With wide eyes, Tasha continued staring at him.
"Let...go," she managed to speak. With a smirk, he loosened his grip around her. Tasha saw that as an opportunity. Tears blinded her and she turned, running as quickly as her frail legs would carry her, darting through the way like an athlete does at the start g*n; accelerating her pace to an all-out sprint. The pounding noise of her shoes bouncing off the walls of the path with a reverberating echo that matched with that of her heart throbbing inside her chest with the anguish and fear she felt as she ran.
Suddenly, cold hands gripped her again. "You thought you could out run me?" He questioned. As much as she tried to hold it in, the pain came out like an uproar from her throat in the form of a silent scream. Her fingers were clenched into a fist, digging into his chest. "We won't do anything to you if you obey me." Quickly, Tasha nodded.
"Take care of Evan, tutor the kids in my pack, and you won't be hurt," he stated, loosening his grip. "And don't think of running away." A nod was all that she could think of. Ryder held her wrist and pulled her towards the house again. "You're lucky it was us who spotted you," he spoke. "If it was our rival, you would be a dead meat by now."
As soon as Ryder dropped her in her room, she sank into her knees and sobbed into her hands, tears dripped from the gap between her fingers, flowing down onto the floor. She was noisy, her skin was blotched, and there was no one to witness her state, let alone console her. Her sobbing continued until there were no more tears flowing, all the tears had been drained out of her. However, the sorrow and emptiness remained.
Soon, there was a knock on the door followed by the door opening. Tasha was left frozen on the spot when her eyes saw Ryder walking in. "G...go...away....p..please," she pleaded but her plea fell on deaf ears. Ryder walked in with a glass of water in his hand.
"Tasha, you're hurting yourself like this," he sat beside her. "Look, I intend no harm." He tried to caress her face but Tasha turned away from him. The next thing that followed took Tasha in utter shock. Before she realised, she was in his arms. "Let me go," fear entangled her once again.
"Shh," he pointed his index finger towards her lips and made her lay down on the bed. "It was a mistake, you shouldn't have seen that," he moved his hands across her sweaty hair. "But it is the real us," she bit her tongue, trying to hold the tears that threatened to leave her eyes. "We won't harm you, I, as the alpha, promise you this," Tasha looked at him with puppy eyes hoping he would let her leave. He handed the glass of water to her and patted her to sleep. Tasha tried not to close her eyes to be safe, however, she could not avoid the warmth she felt beside him. Slowly, darkness enveloped her to its world.
Ryder walked out of the room to see Styles waiting for him. "What now?" He instantly asked.
"We should've waited," Ryder shook his head. Regretting coming infront of her. But he couldn't help it, the frustration he felt after he saw her outside couldn't be stopped, he had to transform himself otherwise he would've ended up hurting her. It was after so long someone had disobeyed his orders after Stacy. She was the only one who had the right, it had become intolerable for Ryder to see someone behaving like Stacy. He wanted to kill her for once, however, the thought of Evan stopped him and the sympathy he felt towards her could not be missed too. "Or we should've not forcefully kept her here." He stomped his feet on the wooden floor and walked out of there.
Once alone in his room, he sat on his rocking chair and closed his eyes. "I won't make you feel like you don't belong here," he spoke to himself and began rocking his chair which he loved using whenever he was in a terrible mood. The chair was Stacy's favourite, it became his after she passed away.
In the morning, Tasha woke up with swollen eyes and a puffy face. She almost didn't recognise herself when she got up to freshen up. When she entered the bathroom, she noticed all the toiletries had already been kept for her. To confirm, she excited the bathroom and opened the cupboard. She was left awestruck when she noticed clothes of all famous designers. "Do werewolves even know about designers?" She asked herself when picking the most simple pants she felt she could be comfortable in. It was a loose black pant with an oversized pink top.
"We are not purely animals," a voice from behind spoke. Immediately she turned to see Ryder with a smirk on his face.
"I didn't mean to," She spoke while facing the floor. She couldn't mess with an animal. It was about her life after all.
"I am also a business tycoon remember?" He questioned. Tasha quickly looked up at him. That was one thing she didn't even consider. They must be having humanly feelings too!
"If you would excuse me," she spoke while signalling to the washroom.
"Yeah sure," Ryder commented and closed the door behind him. A smirk was what played on his lips at that time. Not being able to control himself, he chuckled while shaking his head and walked downstairs.
