It was a silent ride back. Tasha eyes continued searching for someone who could help. To her dismay, no person was on site. Just as Ryder parked the car in front of his house, Tasha noticed a man in a police uniform. He seemed to be a man in his thirty's. He wasn't exactly a model by profession but he should've been. Tasha was awestruck by his handsomely appearance. For sometime, she continued admiring his mother-lode gold hair he groomed so carefully. His only blemish was that he was beetle-browed and they sometimes knitted in frustration. The aquiline nose he sported complemented his prominent cheekbones. Handsome in an understated way, his basalt jaw and Spartan shoulders spoke of strength. He possessed a latent, leonine power and walked with purpose and authority. Tasha looked at Ryder and then back at him again. "Hel!" She just started shouting to ask him for help when the unexpected happened.
Without a conscious decision to do it, Ryder's lips collided with Tasha's. Tasha stared at him wide eyes as Ryder continued. So instantaneous and urgent was that tongue, all but overpowered her senses as it sought some unreachable terminus near her uvula; it wiggled, it pulsated, and made contortive sweeps of her mouth’s vault. It was a small yet a warm one. Coming back to her senses, Tasha pushed Ryder from her and looked towards the direction of the man who was gone by then.
"How could you?" She muttered. She was breathless because of the kiss added with anger. Quickly, the opened the car and walked out.
"You're back?" Alina asked but Tasha turned a deaf ear on her and continued her walk. Many people had increased in the house, all looking at her with surprise but Tasha ignored all of them and walked straight into her room. She closed the door behind her and took a few deep breaths. Her hands reached themselves to her lips where she felt them while visions of the incident occurred in her mind again and again. 'The kiss felt so electrifying for the first time,' she thought to herself. Her cheeks had become red by them. At that moment, she felt like a high school teenager who had just gotten her first kiss. 'His kiss was slow and perfect,' heat spread across her whole body. She continued taking deep breaths to calm herself down.
Ryder was filled with regret after Tasha's expressions. For sometime, he had forgotten who she was. Stacy was the one in his mind. However, he loved the taste of her lips. l**t had taken over him as he swallowed the saliva built up in his mouth. The pack could feel the heat their alpha had. Styles immediately got out of the house and went to him. "What happened?" He wriggled his eyebrows. A chuckle escaped his mouth while he waited for Ryder's response who was busy in his own world. He thought he would never be able to feel the same spark after the death of Stacy and here she was, standing in his life, just like his wife. He licked his lips and looked at Styles. "I am going to marry her," he stated.
Alina heard this and got up from her seat in utter shock. Though she had seen it, she wasn't expecting Ryder to take up this step. Happiness overtook her and she gave a sign to all the members of the pack who also got happy about the change their next heat would have.
"Who was the cop?" He questioned before Styles would comment anything else.
"He came to warn about the animal attacks," he started. "Told us to be more careful and they'll continue investigating." Ryder squinted his eyes and looked far at the forest.
"I think we hunt the rivals down before the humans come to know about werewolves," Styled nodded in agreement. "They shouldn't know about us."
Evan entered Tasha's room with his notebook on his hand. To divert her attention, Tasha lovingly held him and made him sit on her bed. "You're not going to school from now on," Evan happily nodded. "But I want you to," she continued. "Look, I can only give you extra classes, you need a proper education my dear," that was when Ryder entered the room with the bag Stacy brought from her house.
"What are you guys talking about?" She questioned and stood near them. Tasha's heart was palpitating wildly. She turned her eyes towards the floor.
"Umm....actually....that," Ryder's chuckle cut her off.
"What are you saying?" He laughed, holding his stomach.
Tasha rolled her eyes and shook her head. "Look, I don't know what exactly you thought by making Evan stay at home," she started while standing up to face him directly. However, Ryder was way taller than her. She still had to face him by looking up. "But I think he needs to go to school, I can only tutor him and try to teach him manners." Ryder nodded in understanding and tightened his lips.
"Yeah, but he won't study with anyone but you and I can't take the risk of sending you to school," a fake smile formed on his lips.
"I'm not saying you send me, you can just send him to school. There are many capable teachers there."
"You mean Harry?" Tasha rolled her eyes and looked at him with a frown.
"Don't think too much."
"If you can manage to convince Evan, I don't mind," he shrugged and left from the room.
Taking a deep sigh, she looked at Evan, "you heard your dad," Evan nodded and looked at his notebook. "You have to study very hard baby," she patted him on his head. "Just try?"
Evan looked at her and looked on his notebook again. He took his pen which was lying on the bed and began writing.
'Come with me,'
Tasha read the note and sighed. "Your dad won't allow me to." Sadness took over her. She had left a pretty independent life to sit like a dependent woman at home. That was definitely not the person her parents brought her up to be.
'Wait,' he wrote in his book, showed it to Tasha and left the room.
