Hope and expectations enveloped Tasha once again. She walked to and fro the room expecting Evan to come back to her with good news. 'I hope he agrees,' she whispered to herself, fidgeting her fingers while biting her lips. Instead, Ryder entered the room once again with Evan beside him. "Marry me," he uttered. Her brain stuttered for a moment and her eyes took in more light than expected. Every part of her goes on a pause while her thoughts catch up. "Are you out of your mind?" She questioned after minutes of giving Ryder a blank stare. "I think you need to get yourself checked Mr Ryder," she looked at him from head to toe.
"Fine then, I don't think your mom wants to start working," he shrugged and left the room.
"Ryder!" Tasha exclaimed but he had already left by then. Tasha looked at Evan with folded eyebrows. She shook her head and sat on the bed.
'Just do what dad says,' Evan wrote in the book.
"Hmm, I won't do that until you say my name," Tasha joked. This sent Evan into deep thoughts, he tried to speak a few times but failed. Tasha chuckled, "Keep trying," she patted Evan's head and walked out of the room. She entered Ryder's room in search of him but didn't see him anywhere. His room intrigued Tasha, she wanted to see what kind of a room a werewolf had. His room had a masculine scent of moss and pine. Tasha looked around and saw a photo album laying on top of the rocky chair his room had. Curiosity killed the cat, she went towards the chair and opened the album.
Pictures of Ryder and his wife were so many in the album. Tasha couldn't help but admire. 'How similar she looks,' a smile flickered across her face like a hologram. She was so lost in admiring their funny and cute pics that she didn't even realise Ryder's presence in the room.
With a towel wrapped around his waist, he took galloping steps towards Tasha and snatched the album from her hand. Tasha was shocked by the sudden movement. A small gasp escaped her mouth as she reached her hand to lightly clasp her throat. "Who gave you the permission to touch my things?" His face hardened. Tasha had no guts to reply to him. She was too startled to speak. With thundering rage, he pushed her to the wall and questioned again, "who?" This caused shivers run down her spine.
"I'm sorry I didn't know," she looked him in the eye and murmured. His anger made him look hot. Tasha looked at him from head to toe, this time feeling a bit uneasy on his touch. His derring-do personality and bass voice played a big part at this.
"Don't you dare do this again," he moved closer until she could feel his breath. Tasha could swear he was hearing her pounding heartbeat. After nodding a few times, Ryder let her loose. Tasha finally regained herself and came straight to the point.
"The reason I came here was to warn you," she started. "It's not right for you to say all this in front of your son, it creates a negative impression on him as a child," she said all this in one breath, still avoiding to face Ryder. "The rest is up to you," before she walked out of the room, Ryder spoke, "I thought you're here to agree about the marriage, I have a contract for you."
"I would never marry you," she formed a disgusted look on her face.
His laugh that followed was a rattle of small stones. "You read what I have to offer before saying this," he removed his t.shirt from his cupboard and continued, "I'll prepare one." Tasha remained standing in front of him internally getting frustrated over how strong headed he was.
"Are you going to admire my body?" He questioned sarcastically. She clenched her teeth and left from there.
