Moving out

1007 Words
"So, I'll need to study a bit about it and do a ritual to talk to my ancestors," Ryder stated after briefing the pack about the situation. Tasha waited impatiently outside to know the decision Ryder made about moving out. Was he really serious? "How are we going to observe them then?" One of the pack members asked. Ryder took in the question after grabbing the ancient book his ancestors had written over time. "They're after the alpha," he spoke. "I'll keep away from the pack for security," he spoke to which Styles instantly rebelled against. "We can't leave you alone," he said. "I'll need your help eventually, but for now, you need to be safe." Knowing they couldn't argue with their alpha, they all kept quiet though they were against the decision made. They had no option. "They can easily manipulate a human, so we have to keep Tasha safe, she can be a threat to us." Styles regretted convincing Ryder to make her stay with them after hearing this. "She'll eventually be of help," Alina commented with confidence. However, she couldn't put her finger on how a mere human could help the fight against the cursed. "Where will we go?" She questioned. "I'll go," Ryder added. "I'll stay at Tasha's place for sometime and also make sure she gets used to Evan and me." "Is Evan going to be safe with you?" "They won't think of hurting Evan. Not until after they've hurt me," with that, he left the room. Tasha was walking to and fro the sitting room area when she spotted Ryder looking at her. "Pack your things, we are going to your place first thing tomorrow morning." Without waiting for a reply, he left the area and stormed upstairs with the book in his hand. Tasha followed suit. For about fifteen minutes, she stood outside her door, debating whether to go inside Ryder's room to apologise and say thanks but after much consideration, she decided not to. As soon as she closed the door of her room, a knock on her door was heard by her. "Who's it?" She asked and Ryder entered the room. "Here, this is for you," he handed some papers over to her. "Contract papers." Tasha was left confused. She gazed at Ryder with a face full of questions before looking at the paper again. "You can read it carefully later, but first pack your things up." "How sure are you that I'll sign it?" She questioned. "You will if you want the same independency you had earlier." With a for-the-sake of smile, he left the room, leaving Tasha in a big fix. "I hope I am able to understand this man," she shook her head and put the empty bag on the bed for ease of packing. After finishing packing her little things, she went to Evan's room and helped him with his packing. Evan was talking quite a few things. Tasha added his school uniform as well, thinking she would somehow manage to convince Ryder to let him join school along with the other kids in the pack. Education is important, she knew that so she felt obliged as a teacher to convince them. "I'm taking this to convince your dad, please don't let me down," she whispered to Evan who was half asleep. Slowly, she removed the packed bag outside the room, where she kept hers and went inside her room. As she lay on bed, sleep gradually overtook her. Slowly by slowly, her stuttering eyes closed. ***** The next morning, Tasha woke up with a bright smile, her face was glowing with happiness. Quickly, she wore the black jeans and red top she kept aside the night before. Before long, she was all ready to go. Not being able to wait, she stormed in Ryders room. "Why are you not yet ready?" She asked but quickly shut her eyes after her eyes witness Ryder changing. He only had his pants worn at that time. "Do you know, no one has the permission to barge in my room like that?" Tasha glanced uncomfortably at Ryder. She knew she was at fault. Ryder took a few steps forward, slowly approaching her. At that point she was unable to make direct eyecontact with him. Instead she staggered a few steps backwards until she hit the door which had shut due to her colliding with it. Ryder raised his eyebrows and continued walking towards her. "Hmm, I see what you want." Heat travelled all through her body, her cheeks felt super hot at that point. "N..no Ryder," she spoke under her breath. "I'm sorry." She quickly turned her back on him to avoid the situation and opened the door. However, by that time, Ryder was only a few inches away from her. He closed the door again and whispered to her, "does I scare you now?" Unable to speak, she shook her head, her back still turned to him. He breathed out his warm breath on her neck which she could feel. She swallowed the saliva built up and closed her eyes. After a few minutes of no contact, Tasha opened her eyes. To her surprise, Ryder had already taken a few steps back. Quickly, she maintained her composure and opened the door to leave. "Did you read the contract?" He asked before she left. "No," she spoke. "I'll read it at home." Before Ryder could do something even more embarrassing, she quickly left, more like jogged her way downstairs. No one was at sight that time. It was extremely early. The sun had just rose, everyone was asleep apart from them. Ryder had to do some work so he decided to take Tasha to set everything for their stay earlier. "Isn't Evan coming?" She asked when she didn't see Ryder with Evan as he came down. "No, you sort his things in the house first, I'll bring him in the afternoon." He carried all the bags in his hand, "Now let's go, I'm needed in the office."
