CHAPTER TEN MONDAY MORNING, I walked onto the executive floor just before 9 am, waving at Shannon as I passed by and mouthing “hello” since she was on a phone call. She returned my wave with a smile, and I turned the corner and walked down to my office, leaning my hip toward the keypad to unlock it. I entered and placed my shoulder bag and an additional canvas bag down on my desk, pulling out the contents.
