CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX I WAS LIVING in a nightmare. I managed to hold myself together until I walked through my apartment door, and then the floodgates opened. The first choking sob turned into all-out wailing as I walked through my place, seeing everywhere Julian had been. I made my way to my bedroom, kicking my heels off and stripping out of my clothes. I left them in a pile on the floor and ripped an oversized shirt off of a hanger, throwing it on before I climbed into my bed and cried until I had no more tears. I must have fallen asleep because when I opened my swollen eyes, it was dark outside. I climbed out of bed and went to the bathroom, washing my mascara-streaked face with the hottest water I could stand. I patted my face with a hand towel and traipsed to the kitchen to hydrate. I
