The Sun Dragon

Part 3

I follow Illana as she leads me to the waters edge "This is what is called the Oasis, a magical place that is never seen in the same place. It moves from location to location in Egypt. Only those worthy may step for within the boundaries of this Oasis. Says Illana. "It is also the gateway or precipice between this realm and the Energy realm." She continues.

"Now look out on the waters surface and tell me what you see?" She demands. I look out and see nothing but the reflection of the sky on the waters surface.

"Just what am I suppose to see?" I ask, looking towards Illana.

"Take your hand and lay it on the surface of the water." She commands.

I do as she instructs me. Reaching my left hand out, I get down on my knees and lean over placing my hand palm down onto the water. The sudden contact sends a wave of ripples across the surface. Feeling a rush of energy pulse through my body forces me to jump to my feet. Turning towards Ilana, I'm struck with a moment of surprise. I could see long, raven colored hair protruding from within her hood, unlike before when I couldn't see or make out any of her features.

"Illana! I can see your hair! I couldn't see it before! But I still don't get what is going on he--."' turning back towards the water "What is this? It's beautiful!" I gasp.

I almost can't describe what I see. Spheres of beautiful colors in red, orange, purple, yellow, and many other colors swirled about and others were spread out with giant beautiful creatures wrapped around the spheres of color, each one that same color as the corresponding sphere they're entangled in.

A whole other world is being shown on the waters surface.

Looking to Illana standing next to me and back to the water, I await her response. "This is the Gateway to an Energy realm, and it is one of many. But this one in particular is otherwise known as The Dragons Throne." She says, not looking up from the waters surface, her hair blowing in the wind.

"The Dragons Throne?" I ponder. (Dragons Throne? The Dragons Throne? Why does that sound so familiar?) I feel something trying to stir at the back of my mind. Seriously! Why is that name so familiar? (It's gonna bother me until I remember where I heard that name before! *sigh*)

"Before I forget, I must give you something." Illiana says. "You will need it in your journey." She holds out a caramel toned hand. This is the first time I've seen any of her skin. I'm so busy staring at her skin that I don't see the item in her hand.

"Titania, my lady. Please take the amulet." She says, holding her hand out more. I reach out to take the amulet, and the moment my hand touches it, my body begins to shake.

"Rebecca! Rebecca honey, wake up!" I hear a voice say. Mom?

"It is time for you to go, Titania. I will see you soon." Illana says, and she waves her hand around. My body loses balance and I fall to the ground. I hit the sand and pass out.

I open my eyes and look around to find mom on her knees, staring at me with a look of concern. "Mom, why are you looking at me like I died or something?" I ask, sitting up.

"Honey, you were screaming in your sleep. We tried to wake you several times and you didn't wake up. You scared me." She says, her hand squeezing mine.

"What is that you have in your hand?" She asks. Letting go of my hand.

"What do you mean? There's nothing in my ha-" I turn my hand over and there in my palm is the amulet Illana gave me. How is that possible? I thought it was just a dream...

"I-I don't know where it came from." I say, staring at the amulet. I turn it over in my hand to find writing on the back, but I don't understand what it says. The front of the amulet has a crest carved in and three emeralds circled around the crest. I wonder what it means?

"This is your captain speaking. We will be landing in 25 minutes." The voice of the pilot says over the intercom.

"I slept for almost 18 hours? Geez, I thought I was only asleep for a few hours." I say, putting my face into my hands. Feeling the coolness of the amulet on my skin.
