Maxine Martin's POV
"Uhm." I slowly woke up, feeling a chill in my back. I also felt an ache in my bladder as I realized I needed to pee.
I didn't want to fully open my eyes yet, but I moved my lower body slightly and felt a sharp pain in my intimate area.
I was about to move further when I realized I wasn't alone. Someone was facing me, and I could feel his breath on my forehead. I quickly opened my eyes and saw Sir Enzo peacefully sleeping, illuminated by the soft light from the bedside lamp.
Oh my God!
We were so close to each other.
Suddenly, memories of what had happened flooded back into me. Something happened between us. It's over—I have given up my most precious thing. But there was a part of me that truly wanted what happened.
