Elena,
I have been told in a few days if everything goes well I can leave. Last night I was able to look at myself in the mirror. My face looked like I was in a fight with a lawn mower. I have such swelling and bruising on my face. cuts and stitches. I can't return home. This has gone on long enough. I need help. I hear someone clearing their throat. I looked up and saw Derek. He looked pissed. I hit the nurse button many times. Finally, she shows up.
"Can I help you?" She asks with a smile
I pointed at him,
"Get...Him.... out.." I say the excruciating pain as I talk
She nods.
"Sir, I'm going to have to ask you to leave." She says
"I'm not going anywhere." He says as he glares at me.
"If you don't leave, I'm going to have to call security." She says
"This isn't f*****g over!" He says, pointing at me, then storms out of the room.
"Are you okay?" She asks
I nodded
She smiles then leaves. I need to get help, even if it is from Tony. I don't care anymore, I can't live like this anymore. Me and Tony are best friends after all. I talk to him almost every day. I didn't, however, tell him about my situation with Derek. The guy would be wearing cement shoes for sure. I don't care what the hospital says, I'm checking myself out now. I stand up. Putting on the clothes I came in, which consisted of plaid pajama pants and a tanktop that was covered in blood. I walked to the nurses' station.
"I'm checking myself out," I, said through gritted teeth. I can hardly talk without pain, but I can't just sit here where Derek can come and kill me in my sleep.
"Let me draw up the papers, you really shouldn't leave just yet." She says
"I just want to go home," I said.
She nodded
After signing a bunch of papers and getting lectured by the nursing staff, I finally left the hospital, taking a cab to the one person I know who can help me. The one person who will protect me no matter what. the one person who will do whatever it takes to keep me safe. Anthony Tacone. He's my only chance out of this mess. After giving the cab driver the address, and the long drive from the hospital and gritting my teeth in pain. I arrive at the residents I pay the cab driver and walked to the gate, where two of his men stood.
"Can we help you?" One of the men say
"Tell Tony, Elena Barnelli is here to see him and that it's urgent." I said, both men's eyes widened.
"No need go right in." They say,
I nodded walking up to his mansion. I bang on the door, waiting for someone to answer. Luckily, it was Nico Tony's right-hand man. We all grew up together.
I nodded His eyes grew wide.
"Jesus Elena what the hell happened to you?" He says in his thick Italian accent,
"It's a long story." I said, trying not to open my mouth too much due to the pain.
"Is Tony around?" I asked.
He nods
"He's in his office," Nico explains. Since I've been here quite a few times, I know exactly where to go. Nico knocks on the door.
"Yeah." Tony's thick Italian voice echoes
"You have a visitor. It's Elena," Nico says
"Let her in." Tony says. He sounds almost happy to know I'm here. I feel bad because once he sees my mangled face he's not going to be too thrilled.
Nico nods.
"Good luck princess." Nico winks
I nod and walked into his office. Tony is sitting in his chair looking down at the paperwork. His office is filled with books. The entire room is finished with mahogany wood, and a thick wooden desk, and a red couch and a few comfy cushioned chairs. Tony is in a dark black suit, with a red vest underneath it. He's got a tick ring on his pointer finger. And a dogtag necklace around his neck from his time in the navy. You can see part of his tattoo on his hand that disappears underneath his suit sleeves. His dark hair combed back with a single strand that fell in front of his face.
He finally looked up. His eyes widen and almost go completely dark with rage. Standing up from his chair and walking towards me, his dark eyes pierced through my blue ones.
"What happened?" His voice was almost murderous.
Just like the other night when I called, I just couldn't speak. I'm just frozen, I want to talk but no words will come out.
"Sweetheart, who did this?" He says again. Moving some of my dark hair out of my face.
But all I could do was stand there. It was like my body moved on it's own. I hugged him, my head lying on his chest. I felt his arms wrap around me. Listening to his heart beat.
"I need your help..." I croaked out.
