“Ma'am, are you alright?” Rose's driver asked as she entered into the car, swearing loudly under her breath. He had heard the commotion since he stayed in the car but he stayed put, not wanting to get himself into trouble.
“Imbecile! Will I go see him looking like this? Let's go home!” Rose fired back at him.
“Sorry ma'am.” He apologized and ignited the car engine.
Rose groaned in pain as her mouth and face hurt badly, the bastard had the guts to lay his hands on her, she swore to make him pay dearly for it, even with his useless life.
‘You brought this upon yourself Ryan Milton! Cursed bastard!’
She regretted not being able to teach him a lesson at the instant but she smirked with her bloodied teeth as she dialed a number.
“Hello, how quick can you disember a person? I have a job for you.”
Ryan walked closely behind the beautiful woman and she swiftly turned around to face him right before they stepped into his host's residence. “My name is Daphne Welkins.” She introduced.
He acknwoledged it with a nod and she led him inside, his jaw almost dropped to the ground at the sight which greeted him. “Ryan, do come in.” A firm voice said, adding to his shock.
In front of him was Cheng Ludwig, the General of the army, a legend and formidable man, his name alone was enough to upturn cities and cause havoc at borders, if he Ryan, who was referred to as the lunatic killed thousands then General Cheng killed millions.
“General Cheng.” Ryan greeted respectfully, hiding the weak feeling in his knees.
Cheng chuckled loudly, admiring the man's courage as he looked him in the eye, no one dared to do that, no one. Daphne stayed by the door and Ryan could roughly count seven heavily armed men with surging internal force plus several hidden ones who were ready for a battle.
“Come Ryan, I thought I'd never meet you face-to-face.” Cheng said, formally.
Everyone was shocked at how formal he was with the young man that now stood in the middle of the room, Cheng never speaks formally to anyone, not even the president.
Ryan bowed his head, slightly in respect and stretched forth the referral letter he was holding, he had a feeling his life deepened on it. “General Cheng, it is an honor to see you.”
If he knew he was coming to meet General Cheng Ludwig, he would never have accepted the letter. Cheng's men took it from him and presented it to their boss, his eyes lit with hope as he read the contents.
“It says here that you're going to be my doctor?” Cheng announced.
Ryan had figured this out that moment he stepped in, the man's internal energy was dwindling and he took heavy shallow breaths, the corner of his lips twitched whenever he tried to move as well, in a matter of time, he'd lose use of his limbs.
“Yes.” Ryan affirmed.
The woman's face lit with surprise, how could a young man treat her master even when the best doctors couldn't?
“General, we should have more patience, our sources will get in contact with the Medicine Saint soon, then you won't have to be treated by quacks.” A middle-aged man, holding a gun said.
Cheng waved his hands dismissively, Ryan could sense the tension there so he simply stepped forward and held Cheng's hands. The middle-aged man c****d his gun and pointed it at him.
“I don't like a gun being pointed at me, no whatever who weilds it.” Ryan said lazily as he began to feel Cheng's pulse.
It was weak and some of the acupoints had been ruptured, his meridian making it hard for energy to flow through easily.
“Your meridians are weak, the energy flow has been rerouted making you feeble, I'll fix that.” Ryan announced, confidently.
“I'm almost a century old, dying in peace without pain would do the trick for me.” Cheng said, playfully.
Ryan chuckled and took his Zhēn xiāng; wooden bottle from where he tucked it and brought out the needles.
“What do you think you're doi-” the middle-aged man revolted but Cheng stopped him.
“Liang Ludwig, control your bloodlust!” he chastised.
Ryan realized the man was Cheng's son and he was instantly embarrassed for being chastised for a stranger by his own Father.
Ryan proceeded with the work and in five minutes, he had managed to repair the injured meridians and fixed the energy flow. He removed all the needles and replaced them in their original position.
Cheng felt a surge of energy course through him and he was pleased.
“Did it work?” Liang asked, scornfully.
“Only one way to find out.” Cheng said then spring to his feet, before he could be stopped, he squatted and did some basic exercise, afterwards, be did fifteen push-ups and carried the large boulder that weirdly sat in the corner of the room.
Everyone was amazed at this feat, he was healed in less than an hour by this strange man, something hundreds of doctors failed at.
“Surely, you live up to your reputation as the apprentice of the Medicine Saint!” Cheng praised lavishly.
Once again, everyone was impressed, even Daphne couldn't hide it, although he looked ordinary, he wasn't.
Cheng waved his hand and Liang reluctantly stepped forward, stretching forth a black bank card.
“It contains a million dollars, take it as your medical fee!” Cheng said.
Ryan shook his head, of course he couldn't take it. It was a favor for his master. “I'm sorry General Cheng but I can't take it.”
Liang frowned at this, no one dares to reject his father's gift but Cheng laughed, understanding his hesitance.
“Okay, seeing that you just got out of prison, it will be difficult to just come up with that amount, I have a company in the city, how about you manage it for me?” Cheng offered.
Ryan knew he meant taking over the company and not managing it. He smiled weakly.
“You're generous General Cheng.” Ryan complimented, Cheng laughed softly. “But I have to reject this, really.”
Cheng's face fell, slightly frowning.
“What then do you want? Ask for anything.” Cheng gave him a blank check.
Ryan began shaking his head but Daphne stepped behind him, whispering lowly into his ears. “Don't push your luck.”
“Now that you mentioned it, there's something I'd be glad if you do for me.”
Cheng smiled triumphantly. “Tell me.”
Ryan clenched his fist, a determined look on his face. “I want the bastards who boasted of their mediocre wealth fall to their knees and apologize to my sister.” Ryan requested, shameless.
