Come, let's go get you that job.” His sister urged.
She took him to a small stand just beside the building, a fragile yet scornful woman sat there, handing out forms and scowling at others.
“Hi, he wants to fill out the recruitment form for thr post of a security officer.” Suzzane said, shining her teeth.
Adrian Quinn scowled at Suzzane, his gaze filled with disgust and contempt.
“Ah, Kevin said to give him a slot.” Suzzane piped in, hoping to gain some face.
“Hmmp!” Adrian scoffed then whipped out a form, Ryan stepped forward and took it from him, gesturing for a pen.
His sister chuckled softly. “He's my brother, please treat him well.”
“Your brother? You think I take orders from you? I only tolerate you because you're the boss's useless wife and now you've brought your miserable brother to leech off him, shameless!” Sarah insulted loudly.
“Don't be like this.”
“Don't tell me what to do you lowlife woman, your family is barely alive, all you do is simp off others.” Adrian added, then spat on the ground.
His voice were loud enough to attract enough attention and the others looked at the siblings with disdain and disrespect.
“There's only the spot for those in charge of the garbage and dumpster, will he take it?” Adrian asked.
Suzzane was reluctant, she knew of her brother's pride and dignity, he was also short-tempered and hated disrespect.
“Don't worry sister, I'll manage.” Ryan assured his sister, calming the storm in her eyes.
He filled out the form and returned it back to the vicious man that still scowled at him.
“Don't worry Ryan, with your reputation and past occupation it would be easy for you to rise through the rank of security guards and you'll become boss in no time!”
“It's fine sister, I'll be fine from here on. My regards to brother-in-law.” Ryan said.
Suzzane hesitated to leave.
“Come, I'll show you to your dormitory, it's just down the quarters, past the garbage dump.” Adrian ordered.
Ryan nodded and gave his sister one gentle nod, she got into the car and drove away.
“Tch, she wants to give him a palace, a leech wants something good.” Adrian still muttered as he showed Ryan to a poorly lit room which reeked of dust and emptiness.
“You’ll stay here and don't think because you're the boss's brother-in-law you'll get special treatment, your status is lower than that of a doornman here.” Adrian warned him and walked away.
Ryan scoffed at his retreating figure, he decided to just lay low and teach the fool a lesson later on, he hated his sister being disrespected.
He rolled out his canvas bed and arranged his things, luckily, he found cleaning items and he got to work. The room was in a better shape an hour later and he took his bath to freshen up.
He becomes resolved to get back on his feet first before planning his next line of action.
Adrian Quinn was the recruitment manager and though it seemed only proper to give a good post to Ryan he hesitated because his cousin was in the factory as well, impatient for a promotion so he reserved Ryan's slot for him.
‘Fetch the waste from the factory, guard the grounds, parade the place and ensure everything goes smoothly, dispose of them in the garbage truck appropriately.’
Ryan read out his job's description and sighed heavily. He put on a think piece of clothing and stepped out of the room. Since work didn't start until the next day, he decided to visit an old friend.
In a dimly lit room, a woman scribbled some words on a piece of paper but stopped halfway.
“What? Suzzane was here?” She asked, her voice laced with hatred.
“Yes ma'am, she came to secure a job for her brother, he got a job as a security guard at the garbage and waste section.”
“Who's in charge there?”
“Adrian Quinn ma'am.”
“Summon him.”
When Adrian got news that the relations manager asked of him, he felt his knees go weak and turn to jelly, even as he stood before her, his hands were shaky.
“What happened between you and Suzzane?” The woman asked, focusing on a piece of paper in front of her.
“She came requesting for a job with her good-for-nothing brother, she tried to use her relations with the boss to me but I put her in her place, shameless duo those two!” Adrian bragged.
The woman slapped the table loudly, causing Adrian to gulp in nervously, he feared his actions has come back to bite him.
“Vicious b***h, she got what she deserves! Increase the labor force for him, ensure he runs double shifts and get the pay for the normal.”
Adrian smirked satisfactorily.
“Good job, you'll get a raise starting from this month, continue like this and you'll be a boss sooner than you imagine, you may leave.”
“Thank you Miss Rose.” Adrian said and left, happy and content.
Rose Peng flared her nostrils after Adrian had left, she's the daughter of David Peng, a successful family known for their superiority in the business world, they dealt in manufacturing of medications and plastic. She could easily get any post she want.
But, Rose decided to work at the Adipose Textiles Inc because she had eyes for Kevin Paxton, if only that Suzzane didn't steal him away from her then they'd probably be a formidable force, she still stayed behind to see if he'd divorce her.
Now, with Suzzane's only brother working under her, Rose decided to take her own pound of flesh
