Thalia I’m ready for battle, excited for it even. The werewolves from the Beowulf pack are walking closer, anger and terror visible on their faces when they see that their Alpha is dead. But to my surprise, they don’t attack Regan on sight. They must be able to smell the blood on his hands, yet all they do is stop and stare at the large man. I suspect it’s because they are scared of what he is capable of. Regan doesn’t waste their speechlessness. He clears his throat, drawing everyone’s attention to his face. “As you can see, I’ve defeated Haggard in a duel, and unless his Beta wishes to challenge me, I will take over as your new Alpha. I also quite like your pack name, so I was thinking of keeping it. Regan, Alpha of the Beowulf pack, sounds great.” I’m glad that some of Regan’s humor
