After my ceremony to become the Luna of the Everfall pack, there is another ceremony to officially proclaim Xander as Caden’s Beta. Xander’s whole family is crying on the sidelines when Caden speaks of his loyalty, and after it’s over, Everett glances at me with curious eyes. I smile at him.
“Thank you for earlier,” I say.
Everett is like a sponge when it comes to compliments. He doesn’t quite smile, but I can see the happiness blooming in his eyes. He doesn’t show it on his face, but I know that he is cheering on the inside.
“It was my pleasure to help my beautiful Luna on her quest. I feel honored you would trust me enough to help you in the trials, and I hope you won’t hesitate to use me again. Whatever you may need, I shall provide.”
