The rogue’s teeth dig into my arm, and I cry in pain before miraculously summoning an ice shard that I press into its shoulder. I’m drugged and unable to do much else, but I’ve stalled the rogue enough for Regan’s massive wolf to pummel through. He grabs its neck with his strong teeth and throws it away like a ragdoll.
I exhale a sigh of relief as Regan rushes to my side, checking my wound with his glowing purple eyes. His fluffy black ears pull back along his head, and I’m unsure how he is going to treat me. The last time I was face-to-face with his massive wolf form, he snarled at me. This time, he sticks out his tongue and licks my face.
I laugh. “Hey, stop that!”
