The storm outside showed no signs of letting up, the rain lashed against the windows of the house in a punishing drumbeat. The lake beyond the house was like a dark mirror, completely covered in the howling wind, the thunder rumbling in the distance like a lover's growl. I had barely caught my breath after that stolen moment of quick fingering release in the guest room when Karen called me down for dinner. She was smiling as she sat across from me, Mike beside her.
