The Bitter Truth

464 Words
Lily’s POV I sat in the living room of Priden’s house, waiting patiently for him to arrive. The second I heard his car pull in, I got up and rushed to the door. “Where have you been all day?” I asked. He glanced at me, his expression unreadable. “Why do you ask?” “What do you mean, why do I ask? I’ve been here all day. I... I missed your touch—each and every moment of it.” He looked away. “Lily, you have to stop.” “Stop what?” “This... whatever this is. It’s not going to work.” “Really? Then deal with it then, because it will never happen again.” “Why don’t you want me? Am I not beautiful enough?” “Oh no, that’s not it.” “Then what?!” I snapped. “You’ve always been a good girl, Lily. But what happened that night was a terrible mistake. And ever since then, I regret it every day—for taking advantage of you.” “You think that’s what it was? Taking advantage of me? So you’re saying I meant nothing to you?” “I’m just saying it should never have happened.” “You’re unbelievable. I gave you everything, and you just throw it all away.” “I never asked you to.” “You think I did this for fun? You think I waited here day after day just to be discarded like trash? I left everything for you!” “I didn’t ask you to. You did it on your own.” “You’re just like the rest,” I hissed. “Just like all those people who judged me the second they knew where I came from.” He stared coldly. “Then maybe you should go back there.” I stepped back, my voice breaking. “I pushed myself out of my house and never returned—for you.” “It’s because you got yourself a gold digging w***e?” “What the f*ck are you talking about?” “Don’t play dumb with me. I know you are chasing a Velda. What’s so good about her anyway?!” “She’s not rubbing herself all over people. She has dignity.” I felt sick. “Now get your things and leave,” he said, turning his back. “I want nothing to do with you.” Just then, a man entered the room. “Hello, madam. We have her file now.” I blinked. “Her file?” “Yes, madam. Her name is called Lilian Lavenson.” “This... this can’t be...” He nodded. “Actually, I can’t believe it’s her. This girl can’t leave me alone... Ah...”
